I think it was $5.00 when I started.Remember everybody raising hell because the toll was going up soon. Potholes big enough to swallow a small car, too.

LOL Nothing like working for yourself right. :) I'm willing to go there but when I negotiate rate they might choke on other end of phone. Make that call short and sweet. 5-6 PM I'd be happy to haul that load for ya Mr. Broker. :)

Memories a funny thing(unless you`re trying to remember). Can`t remember if outbound tolls were still in place or not. First trip would have been late 1980 or early `81. Swear I can remember all the fussing about the toll going to 7.50.??? Whatever it was - it was too much.lol

And in other news; a new business venture "Come and git yo sh--! Warehouses" opened in Ridgefield Park NJ.
Trucks were lined up on opening day, discharging their Manhattan-bound wares.

(Seriously though, we're just going to up our rates and stick it to the DiBlasio voting customer base. It's not like they MAKE anything in Manhattan anymore.)

This is something many drivers I've spoken with on the subject have not been aware of (taken from mta.info website, link below)

Note: E-ZPass rates apply only to customer tags issued by New York E-ZPass Customer Service Center (This includes: MTA Bridges and Tunnels, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, New York State Thruway Authority, the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority (Peace Bridge), and New York State Bridge Authority). Non-NY CSC customers will pay cash or Toll by Mail rates. Anyone, regardless of residency, can apply for a New York Customer Service Center-issued E-ZPass tag. Visit
www.ezpassny.com for more information or call 1-800-333-TOLL (8655) to use our automated system for account inquiries and general E-ZPass® New York information.

    Bronx-Whitestone, Throgs Neck & RFK Bridges: http://web.mta.info/bandt/traffic/btmain.html#trucks

GW, Bayonne, Goethals & Outer Bridge Crossing: http://www.panynj.gov/bridges-tunnels/tolls.html

Unless you're getting insane discounts on other toll roads with another state's EZ Pass, switch to NY and start saving some serious $$.
