Just got a tuned mirage 36hp as a gift.
Can I put it in my truck and use in just in cb diapason? It's about 45 watts. I know that it's not legal, but can I get any problems or ticket at weight station or somewhere with it? I am not going to get ham license. Not interest at all. Also I will use my stock cascadia antenna. Basically I don't get any advantages over cobra 29. May be it make sense to sell and put basic cobra to stay out of trouble? Does it ever happen that dot guy give a ticket for export radio?
    thanks!

dont have it cranked up and splattering everywhere, stay in the 40 channel CD band, keep your trap shut about what kind of radio you have and no one will know any different.

I'd keep it. Pick up a regular cb with cash money. Put the Mirage away, and then as you get to know radio's you might want to run a 10 meter. Just don't trade it you'll most likely get the short end of the stick.

State DOT guys are not the Fed guys from the FCC. And running a factory Cascadia antenna will likely stifle most of that power anyway.

    nawarra1 and Cetane+ Thank this.

Why regular cb is better choice? Will I get any significant difference?

I have no idea how to check it on internal antenna. Will figure it out, when my truck will be delivered.
i will be able to check it. But won't be able to fix it, I believe.
