Martin, my dad told me a long time ago, to keep a child's diaper or two in the truck for the winter months. They used to wrap the fuel filters with them to keep them from gelling. It's worked for me on the old Freightliner when I was in Nodak and it was -44. Just an idea

Well fellas, I got loaded in Brunswick finally and hauled ### up to the first dealership in Madison, GA and was able to get the tractor off before they closed. Then I delivered the last tractor today in Scranton, SC.
Now I'm camped out in Manning, SC at the TA till Monday morning. Weather was nice and 75* till that cold front push thru about 2 hours ago. Now it's 45* .... But still like a summer day to a Yankee like me. So if anyone is running up/down I-95 and in the area, stop in by.Last edited: Dec 7, 2013

Nope sitting here just south of Atl.
Changed my wife's plane ticket and she is now flying out of Atl. Sunday morning. instead of Houston Tues.
The project we had for Wens. in Houston went south.. Whole lot cheaper to change her ticket than bounce to Houston and not having a load for sure.SHC Thanks this. -
Dang it... Wish if had know you were going to be out there. I could have ran these tractors in reverse delivery order and hung out over there. UGH !!!
Well, I did get an awesome load from SC for Monday going back to Detroit. But I could have just as easily found some gravy over in ATL -
Out on the lake spearing. It was -37 when we got out here this morning. It was a real bugger getting the ITV's started. Lots of homemade tents made out of jackets with heaters under them trying to get them warmed up.
Looking forward to tonights fish fry.dannythetrucker Thanks this. -
I did. There were little ice crystals on the small Allen key that I used. But only diesel poured out as the ice stayed in the unit. At least I know the water is collecting at the bottom as advertised. Since the fuel visible in the bowl comes from the tank and flows to the engine via the center fitting, I'm not really concerned. But the level in the bowl was coming up and if I needed to change the element I'd have to drain it first. That was my main concern.

Lordsburg, NM and finally 60 degrees. Get up early and run into Phoenix tomorrow. Managed to get 4.5 mpg yesterday and today.

Carlsbad, NM behind the Wal-Mart and not 60 here, about 22 so it's pushing down your way Ron. Never hit any "bad" weather but ran in 1/4 mile visibility fog from I-40 all the way to Alien Town. It never got above 20 degrees so I had to stop every 20 miles or so and let the defroster clear the ice from the windshield.

I had my share already freezing rain, ice and freezing fog from junction, tx to van horn, tx
Just hope AZ doesn't screw with me in the early morning. I have never requested weekend travel before and since they granted it at central permits ... Hope San Simon is on board. -
