iirc the heights posted in NYC are from a 12" curb, why? just to mess with us I guess....

at the TA exit 4 I80 in NJ, hoping we don't get the ice storm overnight so I can deliver N of Philly, then grab a relay to central Long Island. Bonus! the ONLY info dispatch has for the con on that relay is a phone #

im sure itll be fine, theres a TON of parking on the island......right? ;)

When you get a chance, order the truck route map from NYC. I can't remember the URL but it is a paper version of the one Meltom posted. It's free and they will mail it to your home.

I was just talking with some drivers here about my route and it looks like I'm good to go. I wrote it down just in case my GPS takes another dump. Also, they said that they don't enforce the 53' rule. So I'm going in (too late to back out now).

I've been in the Burroughs before and it's not as bad as some people make it out to be. Just take your time and if you think an overpass is too low and you're on a truck route, wait a minute and if another truck sails past you, then you'll know.

    FlatbedTexan and Meltom Thank this.

Yeah, just park on the street.

I had a customer on Long Island once tell me to drop my trailer in the street. I told him I can't do that, especially with snow plowed to only 10' out from the curb. He said, "Well you can't leave it here in front of all these cars." Then another driver wanted to know if I was leaving because he was going to drop his trailer in the same spot. So I pulled up and we both dropped our trailers across the entire row of cars. They could still get out... one by one after the first one moved.

Thought I would get in trouble, but never heard a word about it.

I just got a Qualcomm message that says, "53 trailers are allowed into NY and NYC as long as following the designated routes. You should be fine to proceed."

I took a picture of it and saved it in the cloud, just in case I need it.

I used to order a few of those a year and hand them out to drivers that I had to send to NYC

Meltom saw one of your drivers in the ditch today on US-35 in WV. Prob the worst winter weather I've been in. Not really the weather but the road conditions were horrible. I guess WV snow plows take Sundays off.

So what you guys should do is highlight your routes, then post the results on here. it's difficult to find anything online. I'm seeing a 12'10" on 495, but I'm also seeing several trucks that are 13'6" cruising right be there. I went south on 110 and didn't find anything.

The low clearance on route 110 is a RR overpass. Just north of 24.
