Thank you for the imput. I am looking pretty hard at TMC right now. Based on where i am living i can not run the 7/4, 7/3 for Roehl with a flatbed.

How about driver retention? Can anyone weigh in on how long drivers stay with each of these 3 companies, and why or why not?
-
You could do regional though. Just curious, what did TMC and Maverick offer for home time?
-
Are you talking about Maverick Specialized or Maverick Trans? The specialized guys are running around with mostly old left over schneider equipment from when they bought that division. Other than that you'r getting into the NEW trucks and the NEW motors are all junk. every company is going to be having issues with them.

Maverick and TMC both offer "weekends" home. Maverick says 90% of them at home and TMC says 46 out of 52 weekends at home. From what i have read here there more money to be made with Mav and TMC than with Roehl. Plus where i live Roehl will have me 2 extra days out on the road before i get home.
-
Maverick will only do 48 state if you're out of TX like me so expect to be out 2 to 3 weeks

I'm starting TMC orientation in Des Moines on Monday. Looked hard at Roehl and TMC, and decided to give TMC first shot running NE Regional. We'll see how it goes. I'm excited....right now I work in foodservice distribution (think Sygma/Sysco/Maines et al) and am very much looking forward to graduating from the "lumper-with-CDL" stage.

Mav's retention is one of the lowest. 80% a year with a waiting list depending on the state. TMC doesn't appear to care too much about the drivers (outside of safety). You would be just another number to them. Not knocking them, but just been my limited experience with them.
Not sure about Roehl. -
Looks like I'm not going to head to Maverick this weekend. The greyhound I'd have to catch is an hour+ away fom my house and I'd have to catch it just after midnight. Ain't gona do it, don't have any way to get there that time of night anyways. MAv won't rent me a car so I'm most likely off to Arnold in Dallas. Have to make a decision by noon today
-
They should let you rent a car. They may not pay for the rental, but they'll give you the mileage up to the cost of the bus ticket. I'm assuming you wanted a one-way rental?
