cool, I'l tell my FM that I have the same intentions of 2500 miles/week min...but yeah..I do understand the concept of "earning our stripes" and trust of our FM and towing the company line...etc...as a new guy Im sure they'll give me more as I can prove I can do my job correctly and efficiently.etc

So far what do you think about Prime? They have offered me a job but I've heard all this crap about them. So since you work there how do you like it?

My thread here details what I think about it. I encourage you to read through it.

    In short, I like it.

So, I've finally gotten to the point where I almost like where everything is in the truck.

Here are some pictures of my new setup.

I've got my microwave out of the way, my Sterilite and trash can too. I have hanging shelves in my closet, and most all my food packed away.

My tv and xbox are secured, and I provide my student with a trunk, a sleeping bag, sheet, and both a cupboard and cubby for his stuff.

I'm not a Prime driver but I did seriously consider them early on. One word of advice I have for you is --IGNORE. If you take anything anybody says about the trucking business online, good or bad, you will always be disappointed and never happy. All companies can be good and all companies can be bad. They all have whiners and million milers...even Prime. What you get out of it is mostly determined by what you put into it. Turn off the CB and talk radio, don't spend every waking hour in the drivers lounge or online, hone your craft a little bit every day (that is why my status is and will always be "student") and soon enough you will be answering questions, not asking them.

Finally, I believe there are not many training programs as good as Prime's. If you complete it, you will know more than just how to steer and shift, though those are important tasks.

I was wondering if anyone could explain what would happen if I go through Primes cdl program, even though I already have my class A? I would go through just like everyone else who doesn't have their cdl yet and get paid $500 for the first couple of weeks, then on to $600 a week and I would not have to take the actual cdl tests again right? When everyone else goes for their test, I would just go straight out with the trainer or test for my own truck? Does that sound about right? I've read so many of these threads on different companies, I'm afraid I've got some of them mixed up. Any help would be appreciated. As for my class A, I obtained it from a previous employer. I drove a beer truck locally for 5 years. I have no OTR experience at all. Just local. So I would have to have a 10 year work history since I held a driving job correct? Or does "driving job" only pertain to OTR driving jobs? Thanks in advance!

That's a full size. The top bunk is the dead giveaway.
