Please explain to me why one would run down the side of a truck stopped on the side of the road, PROPERLY stopped that is...flashers on, hugging the grass, triangles out....and blow their airhorn? Specially if the driver is out of the truck, maybe working on it themselves or collecting the triangles to leave? Just for S&G's? To see if they can get the driver to jump? Whats the point of this?

So ... details please . You sound frustrated . Was it because it was annoying or that the PITA actually scared you ? Those would be the only reasons I could see any trucker, or any driver for that matter do that .
I can imagine some folks out on the road take any small scenario as a means to entertain themselves ..sadly at the other drivers expense .
I could also see myself having a heart rate increase had it been me on the side of the road , but then a chuckle as I realized I'd just been 'got' .

Back "in the day" (paper logs, fudged as a matter of SOP, 5/5 splits were ok), when the sun came up, truckers generally needed [or were expected] to be moving down the road. Any trucker parked in a pull-out on exit ramp along I-10 near Fort Stockton a half hour after sunrise was liable to get their "wake up call" more then once.

I've had it done to me and have done it to others once or twice (I may have recognized the driver as we ran the same stretches repeatedly) , but not lately with the changes in the industry the last 20 years. Not saying that might have been the situation I'm just saying it used to happen a lot on remote stretches of road many moons ago.

No, the ones honking are not blowing at a four wheeler who won't budge to let them over. That, I could understand...I still wouldn't care for it, but I could understand it. Even traffic on the other side of the highway does it. I don't get it.

If I'm broke down on the side of the road...you can bet I'm already in a foul mood...go by and scare the daylights out of me by blowing your airhorn 10 feet away from my head?!

    Thanks jerk.

They don't do it when you are in the truck, only out.

What? You think I can't see you? You think I don't hear you? You think I'm not watching for the arsehat who decides he doesn't need to get over for you, and whizzes by at 75 mph, 4 feet away? even though there's not a car or truck near him for miles?

Then you get pissed when I catch up with you down the road and give you nice New York State bird....
