I have heard about the wasp spray also, and use good judgment when people are asking you for a few bucks, my answer is I use a company card, which I do but the minute you pull out your billfold for a buck they have the ability to take it all
I get to many of the same truckstops and I know I see the same guys with the same story every time, we just broke down..... just want to get a can of soup.... etc. same story and in fact the same people
I was in a TS a few years ago, guy wanted $20 to pay for a bus ticket, said he had all but $20, I said no... He came back and was hanging around then asked if I wanted to buy a $300 tv he bought for a gift, said he really needed to get home and would take the hit and sell it for $100 I said sure....... mistake, he went off on me that I didn't have a free $20 bill but had $100
Could have ended up in a tangled mess but I simply told him to beat it
Other than that, never had any issues but I am not a small guy and don't scare easy either
Personal Safety question

WASP SPRAY !!!!

OMG ...it would probably more humane just to blow them away with a .44
Bug spray in the eyes would suck !Tonythetruckerdude and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Just lock your doors and close the curtains. I've never had any trouble parking in some less then ideal areas. You can add an alarm or buy a gaurd dog. (your guard dog can be tax deductible). There are tons fo threads about what weapons you can and cant have in a truck. If someone attacks me, they probably want the truck and load, they dont want to kill me. No load is worth my life so i would just give them the keys. That being said, by truck has gps tracking, so they would be idiots to steal it. Even if they find the right fuse, it has a 6 hour batt. If your worried about it, keep a tire club handy.

Trk driving ranks as one of the top 10 dangerous jobs in America but not because of the high crime rate. Its because of mountains, drivers do what it takes to get load delivered with companies partially to blame and the government has made it hard to make a decent living for the hard working americans so safety comes second. Many drivers die every yr because of this and so does many 4 wheelers. But far as getting jacked by some low life thug. That's never happened to me the 11 yrs in this profession.

Tank locks, trailer locks, NRA sticker, common sense.
-
Avoid the NRA sticker they might just brake into the truck looking for a gun when you are not in the truck. Also it could lead to some undue scrutiny in some states or citiesDryver Thanks this.

Whilst trying not to turn this thread into a political one I don't drive the west coast by choice as they are anti-trucks and anti guns so I don't spend my time or money there. I do not want to help their economy by hauling freight out of those states.MZdanowicz Thanks this.
