I don't know where you're located but you should be able to get a much better gig hauling water. You should be able to get at least $15/hr and time and a half over 40 from the start.

This is the million dollar question! Another member here sent me a pm asking if I had any luck. We both have been all around South Texas applying without luck. I went by a big frac yard in South Texas and was show a stack of apps about 1 and 1/2 feet high. The receptionist, who is also a driver, said all of those were in front of my app from 6 weeks ago. She also said right now they are hiring by experience 1st. I have my CDL A and X endorsements, but it looks like a long time till I'm up at bat. The manager at an oilfield service company gave me about 2 minutes of why he shouldn't hire me before standing up and saying thanks for stopping by. I think without experience you have a tough road ahead. One company would possibly have something in the future but couldn't promise many hours. I don't know the secret hand shake or something!
Company name vague so as not to identify anyone.

This is for the newbies running around with their heads cut off:

    BANG!

-Guys, if you want to get into Frac apply with Schlumberger at www.sosemploymentgroup.com they WILL get back to you, and will hire you WITHOUT a CDL but you MUST meet their job requirements about job history!

    BANG!
Pumpco is hiring newbies but you MUST have your CDL with X endorsement!!

if you want to get into hauling water or mud:

    BANG!

-go to www.shaletanktruck.com they dont provide housing and they are located across south texas 18 bucks an hour to start and you just need your tanker endorsement!

    BANG!

-Call JC Fodale Energy services at 888-336-3253!! They hire newbies with just tanker

    A WORD to the wise

and this is probably the most important piece of advice!!: listen!

If you want to get hired, you need to talk to the Forman/Terminal manager/guy in charge. Unless their website specifically says online apps only, otherwise talking to the secretary only will get you nowhere!

    BANG! LOL!

    EXCELLENT MONEY!!

    $15 an hour X 40 hours = $600 a week.

    $600.00 a week X 52 weeks = $31,200 a year.

    $31,200 a year divided by 12 months = $2,600 a month.

    Time and one half:

$15 an hour X 1.5 = $22.50 an hour for every hour over 40 hours.

    AGAIN, EXCELLENT MONEY!!

If I had the credentials, experience, and was able to pass the physical, I would be more than happy to accept a job of this nature.

Currently, I am earning $9.53 an hour, plus commissions and overtime as a retail clerk. This is my highest hourly wage since being in the workforce for 39 years, (since 1974). TRUTHFULLY, I only have myself to blame for this. I turned 57 this year, (October 1st.).

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

Brother, all that info has been posted here time and time again by myself and others. I can't remember how many times I've posted that its easier for a newbie to get hired in the Permian Basin than in the Eagle Ford. Just as I've posted that Nabors and Key Energy are good starter companies, provided you do a little research on the yard ....... some of their yards are dead while some are chugging along, but either way it's a foot in the door that can be parlayed into a better job after 6 months. As for the rest of it, get your butt out here and start knocking on doors.

Thanks Ben. Been getting some good info past few days and believe me if i had the $$$ i would have driven out there a few months ago-would have been the first thing i did right out of cdl school. Saving a few bucks now and hopfully if it comes down to it, i still might take a drive out there from here in Connecticut.

Dang: to hire with sos to get to schumberger you must live within 60 miles of S.A. or you wont be considered. I don't and wont till I get a job
Dang: I have talked to the managers and gotten run out of the office by one, told not enough hour by another, etc.
Dang: Shale tank didn't that many hours
Dang: I do have CDL A with X endorsement
Dang: it is harder to get hired in South Texas but to go to Odessa I would have lodging(money, money)
Dang: I think pumpco only takes online apps.
Dang: Most said not hiring till next year

But thanks for the other info you provided. I respect your input. I will keep trying.

    1. Well put your address as a MOTEL in SAN ANTONIO/ODESSA etc my dude. Im not trying to be mean. (Psst. Even though you dont live there he he he)

    2. I did the same thing, that's the only way. Just like if you want a good price on a car, you're gonna get run out of a few joints first.

    3. Shale tank didnt have that many hours, but its tanker experience my dude, and THAT says a lot.

    4. Awesome! So do I.

    5. Midland is easier! Sunoco Logistocs hires new people, Occidental Petroleum and Stallion Oilfield Services do to, and they are based in the permian basin, and Sunoco called me back after like 6 weeks, but still.

    5. Pumpco only has online apps, but you gotta call them to get their fax number. But they WILL WILL WILL get back to you in about 2 to 3 weeks.

    6. I dont know about this one man.
