Just got done talking to a friend of mine on Facebook that has been driving for about 18 months now with a good company. And right now he is about to start on his 3rd day waiting to be unloaded at a receiver..and this isn't the first time with this place, in fact he told me that ever time he delivers here (mind you, he is always early to the appointment time) he has to wait anywhere from 5 to 12 hours later to unload. But this has been the longest he been waiting to unload. And he tells me one driver has been there for 4 days....

so how common is this and what's the longest you had to wait at a receiver/shipper??

He's getting some kind of pay for waiting, right?

Otherwise I'd be ready to unload it my self.

What is the product? Did he show up 3 days before his appt? Believe it or not, some of these fine companies do assign loads with multiple extra days on them. Hopefully he/she qualifies for a reset.

He showed up 1 hour before his time....but they never unload on time....it's a factory that makes parts for aircraft and boats among other things he said, it's a hazmat load I know that...not sure what kind of hazmat it is, but he can't just leave it he said

Longest Ive been held up ? = 36 hrs

Just did a 19 hr wait a few weeks ago

99% of the time its only a few hours

Hopefully Congress and the House will pass the bill thats been rumored for some time about detention for drivers.

Unfortunately he just got done with a home time and got stuck with this load since it was the only one available in his area

Blame that on your company, they know what this receiver is like but yet sends drivers there.Suggest to your friend to tell his dispatcher he doesn't wanna deliver to this place anymore.May not do any good but don't hurt to mention it either.

So his dispatcher says. They probably had other lds available. You're going to find out companies will say just about anything to get you off the their backs.

Oh he has....he wasn't happy to get this load...not sure why they still ship to them....but they don't ship to them often though. They are using the trucks like a warehouse for the hazmat and unload them right before they need it
