Ive been thru the same thing your friend is going thru. The more you complain the worse it becomes.I thinks companies goal is to keep drivers unhappy,I really do otherwise there would be a lot more satisfied drivers then what you see out there and on here.

Could be true...he said he likes his dispatcher, 95% of the time she gets him good loads...but not sure of the details how he got stuck with this one...he got it from another driver that ran out of time for some reason

Ran out of time, hog wash. That other driver probably had the hrs to deliver the load.So this driver gets there ontime and even early, receivers and shippers should get to you within an hr of their scheduled appt time.Just one of a million things working against the trk drivers that the law won't fix.

Companies and brokers really don't care how long you sit as long as they get paid they're not going to do as much as lift a finger to get the drivers in and out.

You can be sure you friend's company is charging for the layover so your friend needs to tell dispatch to add an extra $100 at least to his pay. Especially since his dispatcher absolutely knew this was going to happen.

I knew it was a issue and he said he has got stuck before at some places...but not this long and he said its because they can't or won't store the hazmat in their factory so they keep it on his truck until right when they need it and then unload...they have 2 loading docks that have been empty since he got there...but security won't let the trucks in, but he is in a empty lot waiting with 2 other trucks

Tom Thumb - Roanoke,TX 1 pallet for delivery 600 lbs of pickles show up for 5:30 appt at 6:15 Check in at guard shack, "we don't have a door for you. well call". Ok no biggie. Waited for 2 hrs to finally get a door. Back into the dock and go to lumper/receiver. Says its gonna be a bit, unloaders went on break. I say I can unload it myself, lumper says bring in your steel toes and forklift certification. Tell him I don't have steel toes, ill be fine I do it all the time. He says no, insurance, liability, bś bla bla. Ok 1 hour later I feel truck rumble, finally. Wait another hour, finally walk in and ask lumper about bills. Receiver needs to check it in. 1 hour later comes with bill says lumper is 79$, dude are you serious it took 4 hrs to unload 1 pallet then u charge me 79$ unbelievable.
