Did he mention to you if hes getting paid good or peanuts?Sometime detention pay is an insult to the drivers intelligence.I sometimes wonder if the companies cut in detention is a lot more then what drivers receive.

Gotta love those kind of receivers in a bitter sort of way. This is how they get away with drivers not unloading by asking for some kind of cetification.I know all too well about those crooked lumpers.Make you wait, give you the runnaround, wait some more ect ect. charge a ridiculous fee.Skydivedavec and Lux Prometheus Thank this.

I didn't ask...none of my business....but he said it's better than what most get in detention pay...but not by much...he works for a medium sized company about 100 or so trucks...they treat him alright most of the time...and he is in a new 2014 Volvo with a APU (which I have ridden in....very nice).
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Thank you, they don't care and never will care as long as more drivers then freight are willing to work for next to nothing wages.Thats how this industry operates.Sad it has to be this way.But all companies see is dollar signs and nothing else.
Lux Prometheus and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Sounds like for the most part this company keeps him running and he'll make up for all the sitting hopefully this next week.

He just got word that they won't unload it until Monday since no one will be working on the weekend....he is pissed...but his dispatcher is working on finding another driver who needs a reset or someone else (another company maybe) to take the load
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Yeah, he ran out of time because he knew he would be sitting there for 2 to 3 days before getting unloaded.Skydivedavec Thanks this.

I delivered my load to a CAT distributor i stayed at that location in SC long enough to get a 34 hour rest after my delivery but then that's not counting the 14 hrs before my delivery apt. My dm couldn't find me a load out he found me a load with a broker i hate them loads. I had to call broker for info. They told me same thing was on Qualcomm. I had to tell my company i made it to pick up then i had to call broker tell them i made it to shipper. After i picked up load i had to do loaded call then i had to call broker and say i was loaded. Then broker changed delivery date. They wanted me to sit on load for 5 days including a weekend. I called. My dm and went HAM on him caz i always sat for almost 3 days now i had to sit on load for 5 more days. My dm t-called that load and i got a new load that delivered Monday. That was my worst load ever.
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Well he swapped out his load with another driver...and now he got a 1,200 mile now...just crazy how they use truckers like that, I'm no one has hurt anyone over that
Skydivedavec Thanks this. -
Let's see Kroger in Salem, VA left me in a door for 8 hours with a meat load, lost the paper work and didn't know I was in the door, bang on my door with three secruity guards asking how I got through secruity and yelled at me for thinking I was just using the door to park and sleep in, showed them my load info...2 hours later they find the paperwork, and an hour later unload it then they complained because it didn't temp (our reefers shut off when our doors are open)...they took it off my truck and never filed a claim for it, I pray that meat didn't get on store shelves
chiboni in twin falls Idaho had to wait 18 hours to get a door and get loadedSkydivedavec Thanks this.
