Its a good question. Seems risky to leave a guy like that in charge of a truck ... if he comes across some obstacle or hurdle somewhere 2000 miles away from you is he likely to abandon the equipment and take flight? People do go through life phases though where they need help to get back on the rails due to being overwhelmed. But perhaps its a good idea to help him get into something that's less critical like working a loading dock. Once he's got a couple of years solid under his belt he can get into trucking. Baby steps.

I wish I had personal knowledge of the fella she is trying to help, and without that, quite possibly both of you may have a very valid point.
Hard to say if it's just "network/research computer assistance" or if that fella has the character to try to rely far too much on hand holding, for any trucking job.

OP, I did offer assistance, but another recent post by a newer driver who meets my latter description also makes me want to make it clear to both you & him, that this job does require far more than just driving skills, and it is an occupation/profession that does require self-responsibility, self-reliance, & self-decision making, on a 24/7/365 basis. They cut very little slack in those departments, in this industry.
Just so he is clear on that.

    Gitana Thanks this.

Prime requires school. They told a friend of mine that has his A he needed to be a graduate of a school or call them when he has experience.

Maverick is a very good company. I would suggest Melton but they require a school.
