You might want to check your fuel filters, and also see if the engine is showing a fault, like water in the tank. Mine was yesterday and now it is okay.

Well, I've got to run this load to Phoenix before taking shop time. I'll keep a close eye on everything. Right now bedded for the night in Kearney, MO... seems almost balmy at 33ºF, almost time to break out the shorts again...
Hopefully by the time I get running again tomorrow it won't catch any snow on my way through Kansas City and Wichita to catch the 54 on down to Tucumcari, NM. If I can slither on through to Wichita I should be fine. This will be like old times teaming with my brother, we used the 54 to Tucumcari a lot during the winter months as a bypass around the I-70 through Denver. Typical run from upper Midwest to LA might add 100 miles to the journey, but faster and more fuel efficient. -
Truth is, every truck has both advantages and otherwise.
Welcome to trucking 2.1. -
yeah sometimes I miss my prostar but this cascadia seems to handle tight backings a little easier so I will stick with the freight for this fleet, only a few targets are tight but I wouldnt want to really do them in larger rigs, I had a fun one in Hollywood today
Got to the store and dropped my trailer to the side in the parking area, the dock shares the parking lot, looked and wondered how the heck I was going to get turned for the dock since a large pickup was right where I needed to swing my trailer and I was scared as hell I would hit it and you have to do a tight U-turn to get in front of the dock while dodging cars and customers and they will even leave the cart right in front of you, I had to move several just to pull out of the dock area, when hooking up to the trailer in the dock the owner finished shopping who owned the truck and he moved it so I got clear just enough without hitting a car. I hauled a Swift trailer today so I had to contact a manager to come out and break the seal so I could open the doors then dock it, bunch of the freight fell out and we had to gather it up and put it on a flat dolly, they hand stack small boxes all the way to the back.
Later today I get to go back to Pacoima which I dont care for too much since its a blind then take a sweep back to the dc then a load up north to Riverbank for a live unload at 2300 but at least Google earth shows its an easy looking dock, I wont have the hours to get back but looks like I might be able to park off to the side near the dock area, I just need to ask a manager if its ok with them, the space between a curb and the building could fit at least 4 trailers along side each other so I wouldnt be blocking other trucks. I wont take the chance parking in the lot itself since I dont see any easy outs once it fills up with cars.
I would say this fleet is definitely one to get backing practice, I probably do more backings in a single day than most OTR drivers do in a week or more.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Harrisonburg, VA waiting on a mechanic. I think "waiting on a mechanic" is going to be my new location for my information on here. Found an airleak (shocker) on the trailer during my pretrip. The cast metal box thing in front of the air tank that all the lines run thru is busted. Snapped a whole chunk off with a line still attached to it. Also have a nail in a tire and found another at 20psi. So whenever I get rolling again I'm headed to Miami. The Sears load wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Lots of tight spaces and weird backs but I managed. If I never unload a 53' trailer worth of tires again I'll be happy.

Alerton, IL. Decided on this place instead up in Granite City. Easier to find parking here. Enroute to Rapid City, SD, with 4 additional stops, 3 in Denver, and one in Spearfish. Weather map show clear sailing all the way. MPG, still crap, 6.9 from Lexington to here. Pulled into Wally world for my mt trailer and there is a large sign, no large trucks, and sitting in the middle, 2. One was one of our company drivers. This place, it is not store policy, but a town ordinance. When I was pulling out, there was johnny law. The worst, the snow was coming down and they where trying to plow. Some one did not trip plan.

Santa Fe, NM.
I stopped a little early today because I have been feeling sick all day and it was getting dangerous to drive. But I have the time on this load to still make it on time if I can get feeling better by morning.
Well, then I get a pplan picking up today by 2300, when I don't deliver this load until the day after tomorrow, t-calling in Phoenix by 0545 on the 18th.
The t-call time was not a problem.
I called a DM in Fontana to learn more.
After explaining things to him he sent a message to the planners, and one called my shortly after. He wanted me to t-call my current load in Albuquerque and then do a live load some 100 miles away by 2300.
I explained that I stopped early where I did because I had been sick all day and I couldn't drive safely.
He hung up on me.
At the time I only had about 3 hours left on my 14 - so in any case I could not have driven an hour to the t-call, gotten an mt for the live load, and still do a live load 100 miles away in the hours I had left.
It seems they have too many loads for the drivers available right now.
Perhaps better planning on that end would have resulted in a load or two being turned down for logistic purposes, but that's only my ignorant opinion. -
made it to my fuelstop in dallas tx.(pilot on i-20ex470). wasn't sure i find any parking by time i get here(2230 ct) every spot was full, but i parked next to one rig next to exit. if i didn't find this spot,i was going to head over to lancaster terminal which is only 6 miles away. 612 miles today. 473 to go. will deliver this load tomorrow instead of monday morning.
