Fyrstar, if you're holding out for a female trainer, they are few and far-between throughout the industry, and you'll likely have to wait for one. It's not unheard of for a woman to wait a month for a female trainer. Them's the breaks, unfortunately.

I wasn't willing to wait it out, so I accepted male trainers. I still had to wait a week, because not all male trainers are willing to (or should, or should be allowed to) train women. Give it time. :)

Yes female trainers are not as plentiful as males are. Odds are they just have to get one free for you. Unfortunately that could take a few hours or a few days.

I am very glad to see you kept your spirits up and didnt let some of these companies shatter your dream. The hard part is behind you now. Relax while you wait, try to stay rested so you are ready to drive when you get onboard the truck.

Grats on seeing it thru and achieving your goal!! I hope Werner treats you right and trucking is everything you want it to be.

    Good luck and stay safe

Fyrstar, You definently have a unique situation. My advice would be to send that letter and find out for sure why they turned you down to start with. Then depending on what it says I would probably consider a lawsuit. I know for a fact they have to show just cause for turning you down. It would drive me crazy not knowing. I worked for a company many years ago where we had a similar situation arrise and as long as the driving record was clean we had no choice but to hire them. Turns out she was one of the best drivers we had. I hope this helps and if nothing else gives you a little comfort in knowing your not alone. Good Luck!:biggrin_25519:

"Rob" It's just my opinion but I would be talkin to someone with some authority and find out what the hell is going on. When I was training they would make sure I got there within a couple days if they had a new student to pick up. I wouls ask them if they want you to quit or is this the way they do business, if so I would be careful with whatever else they told me. Good Luck and try to keep us posted.:biggrin_2558:
