Paqoima target was fun today, took me like 20 minutes to blind back the trailer and then I go check for the paperwork for the sweep to see no paperwork and no seal on the trailer so I tried ringing the bells but these stores never answer the door....called in and finally got a guy to open the door who told me they only put part of the sweep in the trailer and the rest is sitting on the floor waiting to be loaded since they normally get a trailer from another store to add to it.....well I had to back that trailer in the other open dock which was even a tighter blind but go figure I had that one backed within 5 minutes. Give me an easy back and I will find a way to screw it up, give me something I dont think I will get done and it gets in quicker...

Sitting in Riverbank, CA right now up near Modesto for a live unload, they havent touched my trailer yet and a guy told me if I dont feel or hear something by 12:30 to go ring the bell, planner told me to do empty call and go to bed to start my clock sooner since I was going to do my 10 here. I am sure a vendor will be pounding on my door if I dont wake up and move in a few hours since all docks are full.

The good news is I'm in the Albuquerque terminal and only have about 460 miles to make my delivery in Phoenix on Tuesday morning. The bad news is I'm in the Alb terminal in order for them to run diagnostics on my truck, the one I got from an O/O in Indiana that had it parked for a month in the deep freeze. MPG has been steadily declining since I got the truck on Tuesday, on this current load I picked up in Iowa it's down to 5.4 mpg! I saw the history of mpg for this truck and it averaged 7.4, then went down to 6.6 when the last O/O took it into the shop.

I parked in a truck parking spot on US-54 just over the New Mexico border from Texas last night, beautiful night, almost balmy at 25ºF after the cold I'd been in. No wind, no clouds, and an almost full moon. Woke up this morning at 3:30 am, made a hot cup of joe, and got rolling at 4:30 am. Everything was fine, except for the fact that the engine sounds just like my brother's KW when it started developing injector problems, a couple of the cylinders were definitely not firing. At dawn I was about 30 miles from Moriarty and the check engine light came on and I noticed white smoke coming out the exhaust. I pulled over to park on an exit to check oil level, it was fine. I then "limped" it to the TA in Moriarty (with a shop) and lost the jake brake on the gentle downhill.

Talked to On Road and determined that I could limp it to the Alb terminal to let them have a look, right now I'm watching the Dolphins/Patriots game and waiting for a page to see what the extent of the problems are.

My deepest hope is this will be a multiday repair AND the Alb terminal has another tractor they can assign me. I'd love to get back into a Cascadia. Did I mention I dislike the T660?

Yeah, governed at O/O speeds. I was used to the speedometer on my Cascadia which showed 2-3 mph higher than actual. I set cruise control at 65 mph in the midwest flats, then later checked the performance and saw for the first time in my Swift career 7% over speed!!!??? I then got back on the road and found out the speedometer is registering 2 mph SLOWER than actual... DOH!

When I limped into the Alb shop my total trip mpg from Iowa had dropped to 5.4 mpg. Shop ran diagnostics and did a regen (no regen light ever came on) and said it was "good to go". I drove 2 miles to the Flying J to fill up, then the Qualcomm froze up completely so I couldn't use the touch screen.... this has been happening frequently but this time was a total lock... couldn't change duty status. Called On Star and they said to take it back to the Alb shop....

... got back to the shop and they recalibrated it after a reboot off the box in the storage locker... OK.... so I'm good to go, right?

Head westbound up the steep grade from Alb, then a different check engine light comes on, this time with a wrench icon in the middle of it, then a warning message comes up on the dash saying I needed DEF/SCN service, and lost so much power I nearly had to shift down into low range on the 13 speed...

... managed to get to the top of the hill and turn around at the 1st exit, went back to the Alb shop...

.... I have a melted DEF line.... DOH!

Tomorrow morning they will find out how soon they can get a new DEF line... my weekend DM's told me NOT to t-call the load until I find out how soon the truck can get repaired AND push the terminal manager for a getting into another tractor.

Did I mention how much I HATE the T660????

OH, and by the way, after pulling into Alb this last time the total mpg had dropped to 5.1.... that DEF line situation must have been building...

Sorry to hear about the problems. I know that the DEF lines where on a recall and the shops knows about it. The only problem, they are not telling us owners about it. If you are only getting less than 6, there is something wrong with it. Do not let the shop tell you that you are good to go. That 660 should be averaging over 7 without issues, especially since you said that you have a 13 speed. Just ask Scottie.

Well, here in Oakley, KS. I have all of 246 miles before my first drop at 1230 tomorrow in Denver, and then the second almost around the corner and the 3rd just up the road in Milliken.

Still having some MPG issues. Was told today by a mechanic that one cause good be that if after the conversion, they did not go into the system and set the parameters up then the computer really does not know. if this is the case, some heads are going to roll. Mystic and Scottie, your input here.

It's very good, but is it accurate?

Your only way to tell is to record the miles between 2 fillups and calculate it.
