Cupcake you really want to own your own truck? My goal would be simple and is since im not much far off from you experience wise. I would want to hit a year with out starving. So, that I could get a line haul job or maybe a job doing gasoline (thinik Pilot(Gemini) at around 60k). So, you can see your family and stay connected. I would think about teaming or doing tanker. I did team it sucked but I made a 1000/1200 a week gross with the company I was with. At 6 months exp I was told by SNI recruiter you would make .42 a mile doing tanker plus all their little pay. Your supposed to take home around 600 to 800. Honestly what about TMC? People say they clear 850 to 1000 a week with them and they are home 90% of the weekends and the tarping keeps you from getting too out of shape. Seeing your girl every weekend would be good too. What about PRIME?
But buying a truck and guaranteeing that you wont be home during the week well that's a divorce.
My own goal is to hit a year and try the gasoline thing or try to get on with an ltl. I want to move back east. I went to TEXAS to make money with benefits and not be a 1099 guy. I have 9 months in now.
Good luck and think about your credit and ability to buy a house if the deal goes south.
Feels like a mistake.

I recently got some answers from SFI, and I doubt I will go that route. In spite of how conversation here went, I wasn't 100% sold on the idea, and I got talked out of it by someone there. Thank God.
I've heard Prime brought up a couple of times - good outfit?
I just started hearing about TMC. Again, good group there? Tarping exercise? I'd bet most guys on here could do for some of that haha. -
I got my start at SNI, they trained me for my CDL. Stayed with them for 3 years, than moved onto flatbedding with TMC. I want you to understand something here,,,,do NOT leave before your contract is up! You will be in worse shape than you are now, trust me on that.
I only read a few pages of this thread so, I may be off on a few things but, I don't have time to keep reading so, forgive me.
SNI is a good company to drive for a year, with no problem. What you need to do is talk to dm, if you don't get what you want, dbl and keep moving up the chain until you get what you want. You will not always make $750 a week. You may make $900 this week and $400 next week. Stay busy, stay motivated and stay hungry. If your DM don't keep you busy, tell your dbl you want a new dm,,fire that dm,,,,yes, you can do that. Be professional at all times and don't let anyone walk on you. Do whats right at all times but fight for what you want.
I had bad DM's and a couple good ones. It's a big company. Good luck to you brother... -
I will ride out my contract for the foreseeable future, but I'm not finding a lot of reason to stay past my 6mo mark.
How do you like TMC? Was it a good move, or do you have regrets? -

Cupcake not to burst your bubble but neither maverick or tmc hire far enough north in WI for you to make it flatbedding. Maverick will hire you for reefer. I tried both
WI Cupcake Thanks this. -
PGT is hiring both Tankers and Flatbed.

One bad thing I have experienced being a tanker guy in Texas. Is that I'm heavy all the time 80 k. Never light like a dry van 70% of the time. Big difference being 60 k vs 80 k.

Just another reason not to be a packer fan. Lol
