What period of time is the trailer rental for? Is there a hub mileage fee also?

The trailer I rented from a local place that has those storage trailers for rent and a just a couple dry van and ref units for the road to rent. Last week I had the the trailer for 4 days only, no hub .This week I well pick up Thursday morning and finish up Monday night.Until I buy my own next couple off months do.

No fuel sercharge. What you work out with the broker or shipper is what you get. That's why you have to know your cost to run before calling anybody.GITRDUN45 Thanks this.

Well just got back home from being out from Thursday morning , NY to NJ for first direct shipper I had set up. Then got another short haul load same day NJ to PA I missed the warehouse guys by 10 minutes so I had to wait until Friday to get unloaded. Got another load from Milton PA to Youngstown OH same day delivery ,surprised by the broker asked me if I had another load set up already , I was a little hesitant to answer but I figured they most off been in tight spot with the customer due to the snow. Turned out to be they had a load coming back to the shipper and another one going out that had to be delivered on Saturday same location, I went with a high number of $1800 surprised they she came back at me with $1650 for 660 miles. Worked out great I already had another load set up for Saturday already in Canton,OH to Batavia,NY. Funny how things work out some times.
Has this happen to any one before like this? Should I had gone higher knowing they where on a spot ?Last edited: Dec 16, 2013

If your week turns out good you get back home at your happy rate, or whatever goal you had, don't look back or beat yourself up it was a good rate. I know it's easier said than done - not questioning, could I have gotten more? - but it does help you ignore that nagging question if you look at how well you came out anyways. When they're in a spot though always push for more and push like crazy. I'm quoting $4-$5 a mile on 500-600 mile van loads from brokers calling on posted truck right now. Somebody will pay it this time of year, always do.whoopNride, O&MTrucking, GITRDUN45 and 1 other person Thank this.
