Originally I decided it wasn't for me, but I just had to find the right program. Been talking with a couple drivers, one who lives in the same area I do, and they're doing very well with a specific program. I know who I'm going with now. I'll probably lease for a year first to make sure it's for me, and then move on to financing once I get some cash built up. But I like what I'm hearing about this specific program. Hoping to start it sometime next month.
I appreciate all the help offered here by those who cared enough to try. And if anyone is reading this and considering moving to L/P or O/O, just do your research and find a program that works for you. I fully believe anyone can be successful with anything if they have dedication, determination, and intelligence. Good luck to those who choose to take a risk and at least try.

Depends on what division you're in and how hard you're willing to work. Have a friend of mine doing it in the glass division and I've seen his settlements, he averages $2.60 per loaded mile. Of course, he stays out 4 to 6 weeks at a time and doesn't whine constantly. But he's doing quite well, as are many others.
I'm not doing Mav IC because I'm in temp control, and they don't offer it for that division. -
I wish you the best brother man.. I just started a new thread in the lease purchase section "Perfect Lease Purchase Contract", if you don't mind, put your L/P info there for others to read. thanks

Most people who complain about lease purchases were either 1) Newbies (which is crazy) or 2) Did no basic internet research first. Criminal companies like England, for which there are thousands of complaints online, know that leasing to a new driver is a no-lose situation for the carrier because ANY amount of time that new driver spends in their truck is truck payments the carrier doesnt have to make. Those truck payments and more are being extracted out of the driver's pay each week, whether he makes money or not. Companies like England dont care about new drivers ruining their safety score because they're being subsidized by the governemnt in the first place by hiring anyone. But to say lease purchase arrangements can't work is forgetting that that's exactly what England does: Lease purchase new trucks from Freightliner, put any driver in the seat to extract as many truck payments out of the drivers as possible to evetually pay off the the truck (using 5-10 drivers to do it, over time), and then trade the truck in that was paid off by 5-10 drivers, and lease purchase another from Freightliner. All the while the drivers made Englands truck payments and earned England their freight rates from their customers/ shippers for England. Bottom line: stay away from any carrier with a big truck driving school (which means they have huge turnover) or that will "sell" a truck to new/relatively new driver with bad credit and no downpayment. Why would they do that if it is such a good deal. No outside truck dealership would even consider such a driver.

Gotta love all those stripped down white cascadias they've gone too. Talk about a mega carrier look. Well they've gone that direction.

A Lease Purchase is very hard to complete. I would advise you not to do it unless you are planning to live in the truck, and have a credit card or savings of a min of 5k. that way when you break down...and you will, you can count on a motel room for a week. Have been know sometimes to be in a hotel for a month, and you dont get to choose where or when it breaks. If you must....I have been leasing from Knight for a couple of years and iam giving it up. I cant handle the breakdowns. I know how you feel about wanting your first truck, but you will still be under the company thumb. You get a little more freedom and you are switching one headache for another. Iam not telling you not to do it, iam just saying try to look at the otherside of things.

Two years into it n your throwing in the towel.....Not very smart on your part.... What in the world would cause someone to stay in a motel for a month waiting on a repair??????
