Every state is doing it..
They're all supposed to have it in place by the first of the year.

Some states started early....others are a bit slower.Last edited: Dec 16, 2013

The truth is, if you got your Med Card updated after Jan 1st 2012, you were supposed to send a copy to your state. This is the reason they gave it two years, Jan 1st 2012 to Jan 1st 2014

Some states were really slow.
As late as this Summer..July/Aug I called My Home State (Misery) DOT/Motor Carrier Division and while the person on the phone acknowledged that it was coming up he said at the time they did not have anything in place YET.SheepDog Thanks this. -

Glad to see some drivers are on top of this, I thought I was but, found out at a chicken coup that I was not....

I just had a driver get a license suspended letter from MN. He had faxed his physical info into the state and apparently it got delayed. The ONLY way to get this done right is to physically take the info to a DMV office and have it done the same day. I was at a seminar hosted by our insurance company and this was a common problem amongst the carriers in attendance.
SheepDog Thanks this. -
Pretty much what everybody said. I'll add, the exemption is only for municipal employees.

It depends on the state. Florida's online process is pretty fantastic with email confirmation that your card has been accepted.
