Travel plaza @ mile marker 100 on I-80 Ohio turnpike. See a few other Roehl trucks here, looked like they were tucked in for the night.
It snowed a couple more inches in western PA this morning...got to drive on snow-covered US 322 and PA 208 through some pretty good hills, in the dark. First real winter driving in a semi, had to come sometime. Then after loading, the tandems wouldn't budge (2nd time this week) on the ancient curtainside I'm pulling. Had to go to a service shop to get the mechanism unstuck in order to get legal -- 33780 on drives, 33900 on tandems, 79540 gross. These lumber mills always want to go right up to the edge, it seems, which is why I much prefer the flatbed trailers with spread axles, even if it means tarping. It took over 3 hours to get that trailer legal. -
How many curtain side loads? I assume they try to keep you rolling when there is no FB available, correct?

Be safe out there and don't be afraid to stop to wait it out. That's one thing I like about Roehl, if you feel the weather is unsafe they won't (shouldn't anyway) pressure you to drive.Meltom and technoroom Thank this. -
Note that Roehl now has some newer curtainside trailers that have the spread axle in the back just like a flat trailer, which are nice. Hopefully some of these older ones will be put out to pasture before too long. It's got to cost the company $$ to have these kinds of issues (e.g. stuck tandems requiring service) come up.Last edited: Dec 18, 2013

Anyone from PA (or happen to know how PA would do it) know how I submit my Medical Card? I heard rumors that I have to prove to the state that I have a medical card to keep my Class A? This has to be the most BS I've heard so its likely true.
Also any actual Roehl DRIVERS who use FB please shoot me a PM on here....Thanks
Ohhhh as far as my 20.... Im home....Will likely get an ear full tomorrow. Dropped my load off at Lowes and didn't have preplan so just drove to truck stop near my house and came home. (No clue what the next PP is for tomorrow) Ill call later I guess -
Anyone on here do the Allentown Regional? I was told they got rid of that fleet and everyone went to "North East" Regional.. I'm curious how thats working out. Im sure its the same crappy NY/NJ short run loads just making less per mile?
