WOW! There sure is a lot of wrong info on here. I purchased a truck from LM at their Tifton GA location. They are a used truck dealer just like any other used truck dealer in the nation. The only difference is, they cater to challenged credit or first time owner ops. I had to go through LM for my purchase because of a personal BK back in 2007. The sales people there are not there to go over every single detail of your truck! They are there to sell you the truck of your choice! All of their trucks are given a DOT inspection at their facility before being placed on their lot for sale. A DOT inspection does not include your DPF, clutch, sensors etc.... If the check engine light is on, they will correct those problems before putting the truck on the line for sale.
Yes, they offer a warranty from NTP. It clearly states in their contract that a Dyno, oil analysis and/or an outside dealer look at your truck before you purchase it. That would be something I would have done from any dealer before investing money in a truck. If you do not do those things, you sign a waiver and decline their advice for getting a dyno etc.. LM states that when you buy the truck, if you get all of the above done and there is a problem, you bring it back to the location you are purchasing the truck from and they will correct ALL of the problems before you leave. If you decide to just take the truck.....the rest is on you! Would you just go buy a car without checking it out and then complain that it broke down after leaving the dealer??
When I purchased mine in early 2012, I had a very pleasant experience. It was a 2008 Volvo 780 with the VED 13 485 hp. It had a fresh DOT and 8 new virgin drive tires on it. I took it to have the dyno done...everything checked out. Went buy the local Volvo dealer and had them look the truck over. Everything checked out. I also had them reset the parameters in the computer while I was there. I then returned to LM, finished the paperwork and started heading home.
Everything used and/or mechanical will break down over time. Don't expect to just purchase something and drive the wheels off of it with out doing any maintenance to it. If you do not know what your cost per mile will be to operate the truck, have a good business head on your shoulders, no mechanical ability, a desire to succeed and not able to get a return on your investment.....then you have no business trying to get into business....just my 2 cents worth
Has anyone delt with Lone Mountain Truck Leasing?

Hey p70816h. I am looking into a lease purchase from Lone Mountain. Where did you get the dyno performed and do you remember how much it was?
Thank you. -
The majority if bad things that I have heard about then have been from people who forget that they are buying a used fleet truck. It will not be perfect when you buy it. Things will break, the dealership cannot be responsible for wear an tear stuff. I suggest buying an NTP Platinum warranty. I did when I bought my truck from Arrow in March. The head cracked when tge water pump failed. They picked up the tab. If you do not purchase an extended warranty, you are setting yourself up for failure.
blacklabel Thanks this. -
