I got my load delivered, then spent the night at uhaul locked behind the gates( can't really complain as close to oakland as I was ) ! They let me out at 6 am and I was deadheaded to ontario , I was on my way to Ta West when they sent me a preplan in long beach pickup at 4 pm , My DM was pretty nice about it I let him know I had 10 hours when I started the day and none the next and there was no way I could pick it up and take it anywhere or even get through rush hour and get parked in a truck stop . I called him a few times and after about 2 hours they took the load off me , I have 4 hours left now and am Parked at the bottom of the grapevine. One thing is for sure 4 hours on your 70 and Los Angelas never work out so I guess I will be doing a 34 here and heading out Thusday , I am supposed to be home Sunday so I am kinda interested to see how this all works out . Since its Christmas I expect to be home no later than monday so I am not worried. Great last Week and I dont care about this week since its a go home week and I never get miles on the week I go home , Hope you get home ok Mrh

I hope I get home ok as well. I'm leaving the house in the morning, deliver in San Clemente Thursday morning. I'll have my brother on the truck with me until Christmas.

They like for you to have one but I heard in orientation they have more people without one than ones who do. I don't have mine yet but I am going to get it for more load ops.

    1catfish Thanks this.

I was also told that they'd like it if I got my passport during orientation. I don't plan on getting mine any time soon and I haven't heard anything else about it in 6 months.

You don't need a passport hazmat or Twic to work here , of all 3 the passport will get you the most miles, I have the twic and hazmat and am getting a passport as soon as I can get off my butt at home to get it.I have 1 melton driver friend who got a 5000 mile load to New Brunswick and even deadheaded out of new brunswick like a 1000 miles , its not a bad thing to have however its up to you.

Does Melton throw a fit if you ask for fuel so you can get out for free?

no, why ask just swipe and fuel .I always spend 20 bucks though . As many nights as I spend in rest areas and shipper/cons I always like to eat out when I can. I don't usually stop during the day for more than a few minutes except the 30 and thats just anywhere I happen to be
