My second day on the job, I'm in Texas so I pull into PETRO
TO GET fuel. I have an oil change that's near due so I decided just do it hear, I'm slammed. We usually take truck to SPEEDCO..as the pm is being done the mechanic come up to me says my axle seal both tires are shocked. I look there oil all over behind my tires and all over the brakes ..igraduated 3 weeks ago from school learned a lot from ore trip..
I ain't a mechanic but wat I seen was bad and that can catch on fire..
it must if just happened. Because I looked nothing smoked up smelled or super hot.. I just woke up now they took the drum off now let's hope no bearings or spindle damaged but I'm getting new brakes put on the two .petro charges 30 mins to clean each one wear he said add 20 more dollers u have new sets, so I went with that... Hopefully everything will be ok and up and running

You might consider proofreading your posts before actually posting. It's half jibberish.
These kind of posts usually originate on a smartphone.
Posting from a smartphone is a dumb idea.keepontrucking81, Clasix1055 and MJ1657 Thank this. -

I am Glad you told this story The same thing happened to me maybe a year or so ago .Pulled in to a petro and all I wanted is an oil change so after the mechanic finished doing the oil change he came up to me and said that he needed to show me something so I went to see and what do you know all the air lines on the rear axle pancakes were open and just hanging there. First I was Shocked and I almost had him fix it and pay for the extra work but then I started to think how could this have happened? ya know I Drove the Darn Truck to the PIT? If those hoses were disconnected before I Pulled in to the PIT. My Brakes would have been Locked Right? Dahhhhhhhhhhh....So I got unglued on the SOB Mechanic And he put it all back together for free and I have never or will ever go to a petro ever again

Your suggestion is somebody may have gotten ripped!

Please don't take any offense Johnny,
But the second day on the job and you need an oil change, so just how hard are you driving that truck? I mean, yeah ya might have blown out them seal running that hard!
But on the serious side, next time you go into a shop, unless you know those boys, just plant yourself right in sight and wait. It's like them jiffy lube boys, they show you a smudge on a piece of paper and suggest the rear axle needs the gear oil changed. Good Luck Johnny!areelius Thanks this. -
Had something like this happen at a TA I am not a diesel mechanic by no means but I have turning a wrench since I was very young. Our AC went out on us and the boss man said to take it to them so, we did. The only thing wrong with the AC was it wasn't blowing cold air. This place was shabby to say the least but, no my truck. I do stick around though and act as though it is mine. I was inside talking with the person behind the counter and than walked out to see what the mechanic was doing. He call's me over as I am walking out the door and shows me the air cooler has a pencil size hole in it and is blowing out air... Come on man, I wasn't born yesterday. That air would have already been leaked out by the time we got to him. I mean seriously, how long would it take to leak out all that compressed air/freon..forget what it is called today. I called the boss and told him how I felt about it and he says to just let them fix it. I couldn't believe it. If that had been my truck I would have called them on it more than I did.
