Wow I know about the outlaw way of getting it in the business but with all the CSA and bullcrap going on today with the DOT and their fines and scores, if you keep running like that you will be done before you really get started with suspensions, fines, and possible time in the steel box. Just like these guys suggested you really need to get legal ASAP, then you can really bargain with making better deals and become successful.

Call the State DOT, not the State Patrol. -
I've seen pickups pulling boats that are over width with no oversize load signs. Someday they're gonna get it and it won't be pretty. They'll have to sell their boats to pay the fines. You might also want to check to make sure your insurance covers boats. I moved a few boats when I started, then one day my insurance company called and said "No more boats." They were more worried about an $80,000 boat than a $300,000 Bentley.

That is who was called.
They want the company name. -
Jay, Where in Long island are you from, what town? I am actually looking at a gmc or chevy dually diesel and a 4 car kaufman trailer. I am in suffolk, haupauge area and wanted to see if I can go on a run with you to see how this business works before I put all my hard earned golf caddie money into buying a rig.

I am looking at a gmc diesel dually brand new at at cost of $60,000 and a 4 car kaufman trailer at a cost of $12,500. I am also in Long island. What are the busy/slow months to be expected in this business? Is this setup the way to go and do you think that after insurance of about 1k/month and monthly loans on equipment that I would be able to break even, let alone make a profit??
