We all just need to run the economy and stop buying stuff from japan and china. That would also help This includes TOYOTA Trucks and cars.

Toyota has US manufacturing plants in the USA: http://www.toyota.com/about/our_business/operations/manufacturing/tema/index.html

    And so does Honda: http://world.honda.com/news/2006/c060629NewAutomobilePlant/

    In Alabama.

Don't be too hasty about the Japanese, at least they build products that are of major quality and do employ American workers in the process. I agree with you on China. China devalued the Yuan and proceeded to dump their sh**** products on us. :biggrin_25516:

OK, you guy's see what's happening and an hour isn't going to do anything and justice. Shutting down for at LEAST a week or until something is done would be the only way. An hour only makes everybody's load late. Even though I'm not driving yet, I stand behind a strike 110% because this is flat out BS! If we the people don't take a stand now then only you can imagine how much worse it's going to get. If a local company here in Shreveport goes on strike then I'll stand there right along with them to support all trucker's in this crisis because it's getting out of hand and yes our government should be put out of office.

What has me worried about all this talk is that so far it's just talk. A strike or rather "shutdown" would get everyone's attention. There are also plenty of truck drivers who aren't O/O that would shutdown too. With all the ways we have to communicate these days all we need is a date.

I now work for a good company .... but the "talk" of a strike gets to be to much .... if it was to happen .... YES i would join in even being a company driver

It has to be shown to these career politicians that we wont deal with it anymore .... but the thing is that everyone talks about doing it and no one is willing to actually get out there and do it

Even if there was a date set for it .... 90% of the trucks would STILL run .... alot of the newbies out there would be to afraid to shut it down .... they havent been around long enough and would be more worried about their weekly check than anything else

If it happens .... I would be more than glad to join in on it .... but there has to be someone out there that can get the word out and set something .... not just talk

Press. you'd be suprised how bad these fear mongers would take that story and turn it into something huge, they thrive on that type of news even though they love to bash us. lol we probably wouldn't even have to strike, we could just let the news stations and papers go crazy with it. how many times have you watched the news and see a teaser come up..... what is in YOUR childs room that could possibly kill them...... we'll tell you at 11. if thats the case don't you think you would need to know NOW.

    Just Slow Down.

Run at 55 mph. It's legal, and YOU are saving money.

If we all run 55 mph we will screw traffic up beyond belief, while we are saving money.

If everyone that reads this would slow down and get 1 more mpg.........IT WILL HAVE AN EFFECT. Demand drive price..........less demand lower price. Think about it.

I'm already running 55 wave as you go by sending your hard earned money out your exhaust pipes.

Heh, you have a good point there. Let's all drive like a Ralph's truck (grocery store chain in CA..Kroger) they never go past 55 and make Sammy Hagar scream like a baby.
