why don't we try to organize a vacation... ie strike incognito. I know mid july i start slowing down untill about september. what if we put the word out and asked people to (vacation) sometime say the 1st 2 weeks of August, not for 2 weeks but within the 2 week period shut down for a few days or a week. even if its just to relax at home and get some stuff done around the yard or shop, maybe do some maintenance on the truck. Just a thought.

We have already talked about that too, we have heard april 15th but thats to far away. The prices would have already made most of us bankrupt. We need to do something in the next month or so

Ya i hear ya. Spring time is money season for a lot of people, I myself have to hammer right now untill mid july. Believe it or not I make about 80% of my yearly gross between these next couple months. I would shut down in a heartbeat any other time of the year.

So you want to get every truck driver in America to agree to something?
You would have better luck having every fan at all NFL games on any given Sunday give up their ticket. -
I never said every truck driver. I as well as you know that would never happen, but if "alot of us" could plan a summer vacation around the same time, maybe it would work if it was marketed as something other than a strike. Maybe a thread could be started for brainstorming some ideas around. I don't know what to tell you but i do know I would like to see something happen. I have worked too long and too hard to let my business go without a fight!

Would be the only way it would hit national news though.

You gotta learn to say NO during your busy season to make it hurt! And it has to be at least few hundreds of small fleets in each state to take some kind of effect in my opinion...For example if NJ's reefer out bound freight is 1.00-1.50per mile to any point in US then we say screw that state im not going there anymore..if CA has crazy laws and you don't like taking freight there then tell your shipper/broker that you want 3.00 a mile to go there + FSC. -
i'm gonna try and do something here in wv tomorrow afternoon !
