You may also want to look at some of the companies doing Frac work, they require CDL and will train you.

    Allhart Thanks this.

There is a point to this statement. It does NOT hurt to have an education to fall back on.
If, after 10 years of doing a different line of work, you decide that you still want to go into trucking, then you will have a 10 year work history behind you, NOT to mention having an education to fall back on.

I'm not willing to get on the tuition debt band wagon, gambling on the future... A trade school is the best way to go.... Straight n to the point!

MBI wouldnt take me when I was in ND in August 2013 when I got out of trucking school. I don't know if things were slow or what, I went to a trucking school and got 160-hour certification. Oh well.

I vote with brianthenurse, starting with a frac company may be your quickest foot in the door. It worked for me. Water, vac truck, etc., were looking for experience. A friend of mine got in to a water hauling gig because someone put in a good word. The same place would give me the time of day. I was hired by a frac company to be a hot shot driver.
