Even if I don't receive my cdl through a school? My neighbor drives a truck and offered to take me out and then let me drive his truck at the test.

 

Yes. PSD is to prepare you for testing. TnT is training for job. Neighbor would be easiest cheapest route if available.
Plus, I believe you won't be obligated for year.

 

I would check with a recruiter first I think they like you to have gotten it from a school but I could be wrong.

 

Definitely check w/ your recruiter on this but my guess is you'll have to go through the full monty. Most outfits want you to either have attended a trucking school or a year of recent experience. Maybe your neighbor can help you find a gig?

 

Always check w/recruiter. Experience or not, TnT required. Experience gained in TnT. TnT just may be possibly shortened w/prior experience.

What's Prime's policy on accepting new inexperienced drivers beyond retirement age? Are they OK as long as they pass the DOT physical? How old are the oldest drivers for Prime you know?

 

I know some pretty old guys here. Pass the dot physicals and you should be ok. The only thing to remember is they do not do part time or anything like it. You will be asked to run everyday

 

That's expected. No one makes any money otherwise. Other than maintenance, can you run all you want?

 

Sure, if you have available hours, and the freight is there.

 

Anybody been able to lease a new cascadia evolution yet? Heard they get 8mpg plus. Just checking if anybody can verify that.
