What are their hiring limits on distance lived from terminal and do you have to park truck at terminal during home time? Also do their trucks have APU's?

 

keeping a car at the terminal is a good thing for your ability to always get home when you need to. Company does great loading people through their house for home time though so thats good. You would most likely work out of Jackson TN but Decatur and Jackson are a combo or pair with Jackson being a sattelite terminal for Decatur. they run freight all over that area

 

Thanks, do you have assigned trucks and do they have APU?

 

My Terminal manager told me that you will have an Assigned truck and the Older trucks dont have APU's on them but the New trucks they are ordering will have them.Think the Fleet age starts around 07-08 models.Have all different brands,International, Kenworth,Petes and Freightliners.

 

I have always heard good things about A&R used to use there wash a lot in Joliet was a nice wash to hang at!

 

assigned trucks, not all have apu's but adding 50 or so new trucks early 2014

 

Wrapping up my 2nd Week of training with AR now, Been great.. no BS.. its exactly as I expected and im loving it... Sitting in the motel now lol.. which I must say is one of the best motels (Suites) I have ever been in for a company.

You came into training at the right time of the year. Reason being its the worst weather to load in but we're busy as hell. If u can make it happen in the snow then the times where the weather is awesome will be a walk in the park.
