They seem to be one of the more flexible shippers but yeah these trailers are in sad sad shape and it's costing everybody money, us cause we have to take them ON OUR TIME FOR FREE to get repaired, the shipper now has a late shipment and the company is losing face

Truth! I love how they tell you the load is a drop/hook. Every time I I hear that my first thought is, "Will the consignee even have an empty?" Followed by, "How bad will it be?"
cam9457 Thanks this. -
Agree 100%

Now I'm sitting in VA, picked up an empty and the service side glad hand is totally broken off!!! Yet again some idiot dropped a broke trailer full well knowing it's broke and FOR FREE ON MY TIME I get to take it for repair. My shipper closed at 3pm too so on top of waiting going on 7hrs now, all unpaid, I get to wait till tomorrow to pick up my load late. 4 more months....

If the glad hand is completely broken off I doubt anyone drove it in there. Pretty good chance a yard driver took off in a hurry after he dropped it
-
Air line is still attached it's the aluminum casting that's broke off and the part of the line that goes into the trailer is badly chaffed on the sharp edge of the trailer

Also suggested a Macro for "Time Off Request" which when processed, would denote the date and location on all messages/load instructions - to deal with the forgetfulness of DMs and 'Planners'.
I just got burned on $130 worth of Nashville Predators tix because I was told I'd be home in time for the game tomorrow - then they try to dispatch me on a load to Tifton, GA which wouldn't even pickup until 1600 TODAY (714mi).
Haven't even got a call back or replies to Qualcomm msgs over it - no doubt leaving the issue for Days/DMs on Mon...too late to get to the game from Richmond, VA. -
I hear you on that. Pm/weekend dispatch is all but useless
-
I always send in a macro 15 if I find a trailer with issues I'm not gonna take but I'm pretty sure it goes nowhere

Well I'll be looking in earnest for another company that actually cares about quality of life issues.
In the 13 mos I've been with WE, they've only gotten me home when requested once. Even had to cancel vacation at our timeshare because I had no confidence they'd get me home on time to prevent losing a deposit.
And when they kept me out 7 weeks (20 days past requested hometime) I was told that if I took my earned 7 days off, I'd have to clean out my truck so it could be reassigned - which forced me to come back early.
And to top it off, the PM which was supposed to have been done when I left the truck at the Nashville yd (and inconvenienced my family to come down to pick me up) didn't get done during the 5 days it sat there.
