Hauling live chickens happens mostly at night, because it's lots easier for the chickens and everyone involved.

Easy job to come by if you can drive, in some places, others promote from within the organization, so your chances of getting on at one of those would be slim to none. It's worth a look as poultry is grown in many places.

I'm on the other side of this particular fence. I prefer to run during the daytime, despite the additional traffic, DOT bears, and open scales. It's a sight thing for me. I just plain don't see as well at night as I did when I was a younger fool. During the day, I can see that extra half mile or so down the road and can react to situations much faster.

That said, when I was a younger fool all I did was night running. Less traffic, most of the scales were closed up, and finding parking after my "work shift" was much, much easier as all the solar powered drivers had left for the day.

Depends on how bad the company is you drive for is, Remember they're all bad. Odds are they won't let you leave when you want cause they cut it too close, you have to get your miles in, I drive for myself I prefer to drive at night,Far less traffic, better parking, I start my week Sunday afternoon drive till I get there, Monday I unload and Reload and am heading home usually against the flow Finished by Tuesday or wed. At the latest...... Oh and done for the week.....

    Sure you can run nights

Go to the closest spot after picking up and log your 8 SB

Done it a few times in or going to "one of those areas"

Hos are actually set up to encourage night driving.

No need for resets with hrs gained @ midnight ;D

    You'll make better smoother time.

Just be sure you are really rested.

    Don't drive tired.

I drive normally mid day to early morning shutting down around 3-4am, the cons if I dont have the time to return to the DC I work at then parking is hard to find during those hours. Now 6-8am you can find plenty of parking.

Varies for every company / Area. This trucking stuff can meet your expectation of doing night/mornings. Plenty of companies too sort through.

    Welcome to the truckers forum.

Once your dispatcher knows how you like to run,he will try to work with you.I prefer days and always started like 2 or 3 am.
