Stevens Transport Aviary . . cont'

Ran into a fellow buzzard in Bellemont yesterday.
Complaining about how dispatch is ignoring him and won't get him home.
He had a load that was taking him home, but someone called and asked him to repower this load he was on.
I asked him why he took it.
"There were a lot of good miles! I didn't want to give it up!"
Oh, well.
I'll be out running thru the holidays. Told my DM not to worry, get someone else home. I'll celebrate Christmas with my daughter's family in January. Just have to get a load with a couple extra days in San Diego.
Be careful everyone. Lot's of drunks out this next 10 days or so. Weather isn't helping, so stay safe.

 

Its a shame so many drivers think if dispatch cant get them to their front door, they arent working very hard to get that driver home. We had an almost 200 mile drive to get from where Stevens had us store the truck to our family, and frankly, I would have driven double that if thatsas close as we could get....and been glad for it.

Miss you guys, miss the road, but I'm getting pampered by Grandma. I am one happy girl.

 

One of the good things about running over the holidays is the great loads a solo doesn't normally get. I have a Smithfield's with two drops in CA.
What could be better?
My load is ready!

Just a head's up to all of you out on the road over the next week or so....
Lot's of drunk drivers. This time of year we see an increase of more than 400% of drunk drivers out there.
So be careful!

Hubby & I want to wish all the BUZZARDS, current & former, a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May the holidays be safe and the New Year be prosperous for you all. And our prayers are with all of you that will be out on the road for the holidays. It is so nice to be spending our first Christmas in an actual house & with family instead of at a truck stop eating a turkey sandwich from Subway!!

 

The ole lady's already driving me up the wall lol. I'm ready to get back on the road. Leaving the Monday after Christmas!

 

Well the best laid plans of mice and truck drivers.
Had a load plan to keep me busy over the holiday, but shipper closed early.
Was in Ft Worth, so decided to head to the yard and bother my ol' nemesis.
Worked out great. Heading home with him after he finishes abusing drivers tonight and share prime rib with him and his wife tomorrow.
Now that's a better deal than the turkey sandwich at subway!

 

I hear that... I have 3423 showing on.my 8 day and that Includes a 34 hr restart, in a 62mph truck. On a 2100 run myself at the moment.
