OK guys, I have a question.

I drive a Volvo 670, and would like to replace the stock coax with proper 50Ω coax. The problem is removing the side mirror covers. I've seen a couple of Volvos with a missing mirror cover, but that doesn't help much.

Any ideas on how to remove the mirror covers?

you have to remove the mirrors first tip the top of the main all the away out push or pull up on the mirror side it upwards. do the same for the spot mirror now you will see the clips you need to release to remove the cover. Just for your info you need to take the top door hinge apart to get the coax out and in to the cab.

Thanks; I'll give it a shot this weekend when I'm home.

Also one end of the coax can not have a connector on it that end is the one you will run down the mirror arm then into the dash. Volvo uses these cb antenna for the am/fm radio also. So do not cut the coax going to the right door antenna or you will not have a working am/fm. Do not know if you get down I75 exit 99 Anna OH there is a cb shop that did mine for 100 plus parts took them about a hour and half very professionally done. After you get the coax in the dash have some one solder the connector to the coax.

Oh, I use bulk cable and put my own connectors on it... I have the tools to do it properly.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to take a look at it next hometime.

I figured it out. Move the big mirror so it faces the sky and then just push up the small one. Then the big one facing the pavement same thing pushing up it will come off easy
