Ridgeline hit the old nail on the head--I think there is a misconception among my fellow ClassA drivers concerning construction trucks hauling trailers. When you see a tandem dump truck hauling a backhoe on a pintle hook trailer that driver better have a Class A in their wallet! A Case 580 4x4 Extendahoe weighs around 16K--you better have a trailer with a minimum 20K GVWR which requires a ClassA.
The IBEW powerline local had an ad on Craigslist of all places this fall looking for applicants for apprenticeships and one of the requirements was a ClassA!
