Yes, that number will go to whoever is covering your FM's fleet.

your guy is an idiot. As far as logs he had to show he has a paper log book as a back up if asked by a dot officer. He may never use it, but has to have it.

you, yourself, have to have the previous 7 days logged on paper. You were not on the truck and you were not in the system. So your trainer is supposed to show you how to paper log your last 7 days at home, orientation, etc. those logs are scanned into Prime and you keep them until they are updated by log dept in the computer and QC or until you've gone thru 7 days where you are no longer required to show a DoT officer. You still hold them, for your records.

this satisfies the requirement of having logs for the previous week requirement by law, also it gives you a learning lesson on how to paper log in case your QC goes down in the future.

    get another trainer right away

You're very smart for playing it safe right away rather then hope it gets better.Doubt very much it will.If the acting fm tells you that you have to wait till Monday then you lay a guilt trip on him till he gets you off that trk. What good is practicing safety if companies don't back you up.

trainer should know the hours he has to drive and never drive on another's log. I'm surprised safety dept didn't catch on to this. prime...bad place.

He's already talking about getting turned loose, then he's probably hurting for money.

when I say turned loose it means the trainer is comfortable with the trainee to handle driving without much supervision. The trainer can get more sleep and the truck can run team freight with tighter schedules.

now if you are training and instructed the student from permit to CDL this might happen right away as you've had a few weeks where you sat next to the student day in and day out teaching him to drive. However, as a trainer taking on a new trainee, either from another school, or a different Prime instructor, you don't want to just turn over the truck 100 percent during his 10-11 hour drive shift.

you have to be a maniac to trust your life while you sleep to a trainee that you've only evaluated for a day or two. Maybe a nap on long flat roads, but I'd be woken up for every off ramp, truck stop, big city etc... Until I got a handle on how the trainee does. Certainly wouldn't want to be on tight team freight while this is going on.

Its not meant to be an excuse. But I saw everyone who is anyone in safety at the company Christmas party last night.

If they won't let any driver have a load today that attended last night, maybe they're leading by example and got skippy an intern manning the phone today.

This happens all the time with Safety dept no matter how serious the issue is it has to go thru dispatch first.Safety at kb is the same way and I yelled at 2 guys in safety for not being more attentive to the drivers concerns at kb and Werner. What good is the safety dept if they don't come to drivers aid immediately.I thought that's what they were hired to do.It boils down to customers and money first and foremost. As long as this trainee is making money for company and trainer hell with it he can just suck it up and deal with it.It should not be that way.Hows trainnees suppose to practice safety when the safety dept lets trainer do whatever and has to go thru his fm.Thats a crock of carp.No wonder companies have such a bad safety/csa score and whats even worse its yrs before FMCSA acts on it and still does nothing.Log dept is the same way.Safety should have took action right away and get this trainee off the trk.Get him a room till Monday.Whats going to happen if by chance a Dot wants to see the logs and sees trainer driving on students logs, ill tell you whatll happen, student and trainer will get fired all because this so called safety dept didn't act on trainees concern.Trainee gets ahold of weekend dispatch and because they dont know their ### from their brain they'll tell trainee to wait till Monday.

If he os she had an uneasy feeling about his trainer why did he not address his concerns with FM or SAFETY before leaving the Pittston terminal ?

Thought this was a female Trainee, But any way, With all do respect FLATBED. Not easy as it sounds. Could of been just thrown into the truck 15 minutes from departing terminal with a Skeleton holiday management. Left overs looking for Trainer.
