Cummins INSITE from eBay.

The only legal way to do it would be to purchase a license key from Cummins

you got basic licensie. just upgrade it and keep laptop clock battery in good condition, I had to renew licensies after CMOS battery fail

 

The common compliant I hear is that it will eventually stop working and you will get no support making it useless. You will be OK on the software, you just have to get a subscription, which I think is running about $225/year these days. Contact a Cummins dealer for that, they charge us less than calling Cummins directly (I think it's like $260/year list price). It will require an internet connection to activate, If you don't use it for more than 90 days, it'll need internet access to verify the subscription.

If you got an older version of Insite, you may not need to renew the subscription, just don't update it if you don't need the newer features. Most of the newer software is going to web based subscriptions to fight piracy, which require you to connect to their server to verify the subscription periodically. This is can be a pain in the butt if you need to verify and are out on the road with no internet access.

hey slavka, did you figure out something with insite from ebay, are you able to change the parameters on the ecm with it ?

 

I can change parameters on the ecm and do everything!

 

Cummins insite works well but to change ecm parameters you need calterm 3.6. I never trust the ebay ones though 90% of the time you get a virus or something with them.

 

Insite does change ECM paramters, just not all of them. It'll change the customer parameters that the majority of people want to change. If you want to do more in depth modifications, you need Calterm, but Calterm can be a dangerous tool in the hands of an inexperienced person.
