I have to say, Jason I saw a lot of scuz at CR England but I think they just forgot how to take care of their own when their father died...from what I understand, it used to be a really good company. Oh well, opinions. People learn, sometimes the easiest and sometimes the hardest way.
when people feel that they cannot talk freely, in open company, it's important to have open forums like this... I don't want to influence anyone one way or the other, it's just good to share and hear other people share, the good the bad and the ugly...
CR England, bed bugs

I am So glad i found this web site. I sign up for CRE in November and was about to leave for SLC but decided to do some research before i went for the training after reading all the horror stories i am glad i told them i need more to think about going there.
thauser36 Thanks this. -
This is important to note--bottom feeder companies prey on drivers because they know that a high percentage of them have no other options and are DESPERATE.Personally bed bugs would be unacceptable for me and i would take action by calling local media and getting an attorney..that would get their attention..but many drivers are afraid to "stir the pot" because they cant afford to be sent home and become homeless..this is why the most important thing for newbies to know is make sure you have an emergency fund set up before getting on with the companies..it gives you a way out and gives you options to not have to deal with s@#$ like that...:smt099

I am sorry for your experience OP... Bed bugs can happen anywhere... even in expensive hotels... Did they take action and shut down the place and had it treated, fumigated or whatever?
A couple months ago I got bed bug bites, hundreds and hundreds of bites all over my 2 legs, 2 arms, neck, face, hands... because I slept for 4 nights in a "quiet room" at Freightliner in Fontana, CA.
There was bed bug infestation there even though Freightliner has the place treated on a regular basis. As soon as a driver complained about being bitten by a critter and found one... I found 2!! Freightliner shut down the entrance to the whole area, driver lounge, TV room, restrooms, laundry room, etc for the whole weekend and had the place treated with high heat.
I didn't sue anybody cause that wasn't necessary but still have marks on my body... Those wounds and scars take months to go away.
BTW, my co. did offer to pay for a hotel from my first day at Freightliner but it was my decision to stay at Freightliner... and then, my co. offered to help me if I needed anything.
All the best to you OP... hope you don't get more new bites... you know... those critters can hide anywhere and be transferred from place to place very easily... they are a real pestilence... and difficult to get rid of...
I had to wash all my clothes and then almost burnt everything in the dryer... High heat is the best way to kill them and their eggs...

thank you for sharing your experience, rocks... Sounds like they were doing everything it possibly could and were somewhat equipped to deal with the situation.I think eventually they will all have to get that kind of equipment to deal with these situations because, it is an epidemic...maybe the price will have to go up on the hotels / motels? all I know is I would rather sleep in a cold bunk or dirty gutter before that experience could ever happen again. And believe me, I've done both! Lol...
Rocks Thanks this. -
and they do hide in the walls and they can go dormant for up to a year between feedings if nature says 2... I hate hotels! In general.
-
maybe go to school in the spring and find a decent camp site nearby... That would have been a lot more fun and a lot easier to focus on school because, mosquitoes in fleas are not the same... If you haven't experienced it and you compare bed bugs to mosquitoes and or fleas, then you really haven't had your bed bug experience quite yet...

Well.. at least you were lucky enough not to carry any bed bugs with you, in your luggage, clothes, etc... and then have an infestation in the truck!
That would be a REAL nightmare...
During the days my truck was in the shop at Frightliner, I found one bed bug, it looked more like a tick... on my leg in the truck...
So, I took most of my things out, washed and cleaned everything, then meticulously cleaned inside the truck, then sprayed bed bug killer inside truck, let if sit for 24 hrs and then cleaned it again, inspecting every little corner with flash light and magnifying glasses...
So far, no more bed bug bites... You know, I rather sleep in the truck than in a hotel...

if you're lucky enough not to carry any bugs with you, I'm a firm believer in a couple cans of Lysol to kill the eggs... I bought four cans, washed and dried the living hell out of my clothes and had one and a half can left when I hopped into my trainers truck. Lysol seemed to work on any residual eggs because I didn't carry any with me when I left... I don't know, it worked for me.

We had a guy in school that went to CRE with his Class A. He walked after his 2nd day of orientation. He warned all of us repeatedly to avoid them at all costs.thauser36 Thanks this.
