You need to bring that Percentage of on time Delivery up, That is very low, So low you may be surprised when you get home and they call as you are headed to the house and you get a call that says, "Clean Out Your Truck" Go home we are finished with your employment here! you need to be a little more productive, I want to say you goof off to much on your 10 Hour and then sleeping and then drive a ways, take a nap drive a while longer and call it a day, Find a place to park and do it all over again. This isn't a lazy mans job, you have to be on your toes all of the time. I think when I'm out I have to maximize my miles and hours to send enough money home to support the homestead, but if you are single then maybe you have no motivation to make a maximum! I hope this helps.

Ya it sounds like you need to do some better trip planning. 80%OTD is really low. Yes you should always go as far as you can go with your hours as merlensbox stated, but it is also some tricks to that. I would just suggest doing better trip planning and the rest will come together to get that OTD% up...
-
80% on time delivery? Really? Sounds like you need a lesson in trip planing and time management. I believe that your "Leader" is correct in his assessment. You should know the second you get loaded, before you even pull out of the shippers lot, whether you can make that load on time or not (that is barring an act of god, such as weather shut down or an 80 car pileup that shuts the road down for a whole day). If you see that you can't make it on time, you need to immediately get on the phone with your "Leader" and let him know. That way he has time to find a repower or get your appt rescheduled.

I've had a dispatcher from one of my companies over dispatch all the time. Word was she didn't know what she was doing and being on the bottum of the list at the time I'd pretty much get the dirty clients that would have me waiting around most of the time.
Boss was to shallow to figure out basic facts and would over book all the time.
That's what you get wene you deal with people who not only don't know what they're doing but are just out right wrong.
That was regional intermodule for JB #### down in South Gate. -
Yes, he is right to complain. You should not have any service failures that are your fault. The only service failures that are acceptable are due to maintenance or weather related issues. 80 percent on time is a fail in my book.

80% on time delivery.... if your only working 8 hours a day then your not doing your job, and you may soon find yourself without one. If your "leader" isn't short booking you then you need to learn how to keep the tires turning, and the door closed.... Just because it's called a truck stop doesn't mean you have to stop. you should 100% on time delivery, because it's easy to reschedule a delivery appointment before you miss it and the customer is po'ed at you.
even on the lower end $0.30 cpm *63 mph = $18.20 per hour... you can run realistically 55 driving hours a week
$18.20 * 55 hours = $1039.50
where as
$18.20 * 40 hours = $728.00
your losing over $300 a week... Truck driving isn't for bankers hours -
I usually do around 9-10 on duty and driving. 100% on time. Sometimes I'll run my 14 down to a few minutes. All depends on the load.
Early is on time, on time is late. -
What is that you do? Do you have a lot of stops every day. Are you logging off duty wene your not rolling? And do you run a paper log.
-
You need to manage your hours in a more timely and efficient manner. Why only sometimes 7 hrs a day?Have you been having a lot of late loads? How many miles are you driving a week?80% is below average is this industry. They want 100% ontime delivery unless weather related. You've been driving 4 yrs according to your avatar, you should be up to par with your driving abilities and be productive. One more thing, stop calling your dispatcher leader,he works for you.

Wow, tough crowd. So far, you have two pages of people accusing OP of being a slacker. I am surprised a bleeder hasn't posted yet. So I guess I will do a bleeding heart post for the bleeders out there.
(Bleeder Mode On)
You people ought to be ashamed. Picking on that poor driver. He has feelings to. He is not a slacker, he just goes according to his own time schedule. Why should his leader be the one to decide when he's going to deliver. He should be able to deliver when he feels safe. But NOOOOOOOOOO, all of you perfect supertruckers who are never late had to go gang up on him. Doesn't anyone understand him. He came here for emotional support and he was shunned by his fellow drivers. I hate you all. You are all so mean!
BLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!
(Bleeder Mode Off)Dinomite Thanks this.
