Paying dues with Swift

    I have read one bad reply after another in reference to Swift. I am recently retired military that went to the local community college to get my CDL because I need a job. I have found out that since I got my CDL back in August, the companies that prehired me all require me to take a refresher course. I talked to my instructor and he said there was no refresher course, and that I had to go back through school or go "eat dirt" with some "less desireable company". Well, I'm not going back through school so I guess I am going to "eat dirt" at Swift, unless any of you have a better Idea.

    I used to work for Swift, and although they may have a lot of problems, I would definately recommend them for someone to start with. Now, having said that, would I go back to them? No, not ever. The thing is, you have to start somewhere, and everyone else is just as bad as they are, if not worse.

    You will be working for Mexican wages at Swift, especially to start.

    I cant speak for any company but Swift. Been here since aug of 2004. It's not the white Satan that ever one wants to say it is. It's a big company. Is it all roses nope. There is no perfect company out there some better some worse depends on the person and there needs in a company.
    As far as the postings on here for swift or any company take them with a grain of salt some will be true and some are half truths. If you are a student out of school with no experience OTR at all. You will go with a trainer x amount of days depending on company or go thru school again depending on company.
