+1......nothing in particular about May, they are pretty much just like the rest of the starter companies out there ,99% turnover.

Over 60, all the puppy mill companies are set up to keep you max two years. Go in eyes wide open. Plan on getting another job the day after you are hired.

Ok, in looking through the threads on TR, I had not seen any real issues with May, as opposed to CRE, Knight, etc, etc. Some of the negative posts just seemed to be from those who have never found the company that will pay them $5k a week for not driving, so they blast all companies! I have visited May's FB page and seen some good posts. Their equipment looks good and they do have both rider and pet policies that are both important to me.

Secorp, yeah, I guess any company that hires new CDL school grads would be considered a "puppy mill" and would have high turnover. I was hoping that I had not missed some really bad plague at May that I should dig deeper into before sending them an application.

    Thanks for the input!

Thanks, Bigdogg! Your post is encouraging to read. But, is breakdown an issue at May? I would think it would be common among all carriers when the equipment is run like it is. BTW, what did you get assigned when you solo'd out?

It's all about communication, do your part and do it in a timely manner and things run much smoother.
Some drivers just don't get it for some reason and then they whine about things.

Breakdown is fairly common with all carriers, even with newer equipment and May has nice trucks but it's just part of the job.
Things break, machines all fail at some point, some sooner than others.
May is no better or no worse than most about taking care of breakdowns, after all it's in their interest to get their trucks moving.
Trucks not moving aren't making any money for the company either.

Y2k is correct your bound to breakdown at some point and like me i broke down in Montana -25 degrees and all dealers where booked for at least 5 days before they could see me , not mays fault they service the trucks every 25,000 miles so yeah may is what i believe the best starter company out there like y2k said to all calls in timely manner and you will be fine
