I started having a small oil leak coming from the right side of the oil pan that leads to the aux. oil filler. I had just changed the oil when I first noticed it leaking so I figured I would just wait till the next interval. Well as the miles went on of course the oil got thinner so the leak got worse. The leak was coming from around the hex bushing on the inside of the oil pan and the hex lock nut on the outside of the oil pan so removing the oil pan was necessary. Once I pulled the pan and fixed what I needed to fix, I reinstalled the pan and filled with oil. Let the truck run for about 1 min then oil began to run out of the back of the oil pan near the bell housing and on the right side near the front beside the lower radiator hose. I went ahead and loosened all bolts and then re-tightened. Started the truck once again and the leak on the right front had stopped but the rear portion still leaks. Does anyone know of a volvo specific tightening sequence or a volvo "trick" to working with this oil pan? I have worked with several of these in the past but never had a problem that I can recall, maybe I forgot something......Any help would be greatly appreciated........

Ya gonna get up in the am and drain it and drop it again and start fresh. Do you know if its a volvo specific tightening sequence? I don't think it is but any info would help.

Yes, I ended up getting a shim kit from volvo.....all it is a shim that contours the rear of the oil pan. All good now. Thanks for asking....

Shim or a seal? Have not seen a shim ? Do you have a part number?
