My first post. Want to say two things; first, a big thanks for all the help and information found herein. We need driving jobs very soon so the help is great here.

Second, in return, I will post what we find during our search so hopefully we can help back. If companies say they don't want us for lack of experience or something, I will ask what and who they do want, and post it here with names and locations if they will allow it.

"We" is my wife and I. We are both looking for driver jobs in the oilfields in the Midland TX area. We will do all we can to make sure anyone who helps us gets a referral if one is available, you might even get two referrals! Here is what I will be posting about over the next few months as our effort unfolds.

We are looking to pull crude, sand, or water. We both have perfectly clean records of all kinds. We both have tanker, hazmat, doubles, triples. We both have 9 months recent OTR experience but no oilfield or tanker experience. We drove team for 7 months in 48 and delivered 217 loads on time and without incident. We are US citizens holding current valid US Passports. We have any and all work history, residential, and license histories. We can account for every single day of employment for the last 20 years, and have the federal tax returns to prove it.

We don't do drugs and we don't smoke, for what that is worth around crude. We'll pass any background check, any physical, as we have already done so a few times. Like any good driver, we are extremely safe. We do our inspections because we have driven old dirt-bag trucks and know what it is like to lose air brakes, have exhaust leaks, and lose slack adjusters.

We know what it is like to work on commission. We did so for 18 years as commercial real estate agents in our own agency until the recession killed us. We used both paper logs and Qualcomm. We each have our own laptops and smartphones with a hotspot if we can't get good Wi-Fi.

We have no kids, own no real estate anymore, and have no need to get home as we have no home or families. We own a F-350, and SUV, and live in our 33 foot travel trailer, own all free and clear. We currently live in an RV park in Big Spring Texas, and have another spot reserved in Odessa, paid for, in case we need to head that way. We are willing to relocate but would really like to drive in the Garden City area. We have a little money set aside so we can look for no more than a month or so.

Using the tips and suggestions given in this forum we will be applying for work in Midland, Odessa, Big Spring, Snyder, etc. We have cards we pass out to drivers we see in truck stops, etc. We drive around looking for those "hiring now" signs, read the local classifieds, use Indeed, etc. Starting today we will go door-knocking looking for work. I will keep posting what we find, maybe not every day, but close to it.

Since this is our first post I cannot PM. So if you want to pursue those referrals feel free to phone me at Deleted or email me at cooley@mtnhome.com Also, if you are also looking for work in the same area, feel free to phone and we'll share ideas. I'm not big on long phone conversations so will talk only a few minutes, and may not answer if busy, but leave a message.

Thanks to all once again! Arky, special thanks to you.

I have no reason to believe the OP's won't follow through with this info.....here's hoping they do. This should be good.

Yes, I did. Trouble there is one must fill out an entire application before you can even search the jobs - unless I missed something. I would not mind that, but to put all my sensitive information onlilne, without knowing where it goes, I hate to do that. I don't want a million OTR recruiters calling me and running my records. thanks for the heads up however.

I am not talking about the trucking jobs that is shown across the top of the forums page---there is a section like the oilfield trucking forum that has job postings like classifieds.

Best of luck to the OP. The arrangements you have made are perfect for the venture. I would advise you that it might take more than a month to get a job hauling crude. From what I have heard...and through my own experience...about a month MINIMUM is what it takes to get hire by the crude haulers. I'm not sure about water or sand. The fact that you are knocking on doors and taking the intiative to FIND a job likely means that you will have one far sooner than it takes to get on with a crude hauler. That is not a bad thing. You'll make good money...possibly just as good as you make hauling crude. You will also buy yourself some time...and oilfield experience... to search and find that perfect fit for a long term career. I honestly wouldnt advise you to change a thing about what you are doing.
