Still at the house in rainy VA. Load isn't scheduled to be ready until 11:30 am today with Tuesday deliveries. Just called LL to see if it was ready, and, of course, it's not. Don't want to start the day until it is. That is one nice thing about living close to the places I get sent to pick up coming off home time. But LL tends to run late and I hope this isn't one of those times. And it's Bolingbrook IL and Sun Prairie WI (now that I've really looked at it!). Get to play in the rain all day today, hooray! At least it won't be snow/ice (hopefully).Strykor Thanks this.

Scooter D.'s Girl checking in on the 4th day of our journey across the U.S. We are now in California which is an interesting place in itself. ScooterDawg is very knowledgeable about the history of the places we have passed through and has been educating me on history and geography. Who knew this was going to be a fun AND educational trip! Anyone who knows SD personally also knows that the man is a comedian which has made the trip even more enjoyable! One thing that I have definitely learned on this trip is that SD knows this job and if you ever have a question he would be a great resource for you. He is also a true and loyal friend that will "have your back." Will check in later. Be safe out there.

Glad you are enjoying the trip. Hopefully I will get to meet up with S.D. and a couple others from this company as they are very knowledgeable and help everyone out even if they don't work for Abilene. Enjoy the trip.Scooter D.'s Girl Thanks this.

Truckin' on down the road in New Mexico. Riding along with a professional Trucker has been quite an adventure. You learn a lot about a person when you are with them 24/7. I am happy to say, however, that I am enjoying the company of my partner in the driver's seat. I love being the "co-pilot" but I could not do this job for a living. You Truckers obviously have nerves of steel to deal with the traffic, weather, crazy drivers and being away from home for long periods of time. The more I see and experience during this adventure only makes me appreciate your profession even more. Continue to be safe and thanks again for doing the job you do! P.S. I am amazed and grateful to see the user names of each one of you who read my posts! Thank you for reading about my experiences on this journey with SD.

I've taken my wife with me a few times. Out in the early am and back to the house late pm. The last time I took her almost ended in a divorce. We now have a complete understanding, I'll do the truck driving thing and she'll do the rest of the stuff, taking care it the house, the dogs and her real estate business. Lets just say it wasn't an enjoyable experience, for either one of us.

Hmmm, I wonder what the reason was. Did they elaborate as to why they passed on you?
