Here you go gashauler. This is a driver pulling into I think rack 6 at Motiva Providence. Pretty much nose up to 7, back up ( what he is doing in this pic) and drive into 6. Pull thru and back up to straighten up.[IMG]
Sorry for bringing this back up but didn't want to make a new thread

What a pain. It's so much nicer to stop right at the front of the rack then creep in shut down and start loading. We can load three products at one time but at our own facility in another state with our truck and trailers we load at 5 points all the same time. You've got to be sharp and don't enter the wrong numbers for the compartment so you check and double check before you hit the start button. All of our trucks are set-up with loading heads with a drop pipe underneath (4") to unload. So you have your 6" drybreak fiiting to load at the rack then right bellow you have your 4" drop. Two sets of vapor on each the trailer and two on the truck. It loads very fast. In Vegas are trucks were truck and trailers too but only 1 loading point. So you had to stop at the fills for the truck, load, then unhook and pull up to load the trailer. We could still load 12450 gallons in about 20 mins. Having a long drawbar it allowed us to store our fitting in a rack with chains. All you had to do was unhook the chain and pick the fitting you needed. To the rear of the fittings we had a storage box where we stored an extra fitting, spill kits, and whatever you might need. Right ahead of the fittings we had a tray for hoses so we store 2 set" of 10 ' hoses. On the truck we had 20" hoses and on the trailer we had 30" hoses. We didn't like getting them out. One the trailer we stored 2 metal buckets and 1 up on the truck. I hope no one is using plastic.

how do you guys enjoy hauling in snow? I usually just pull straight into all the racks we go to. Practice makes perfect.

Its not bad when your loaded until your in the station. These Pete's are not to bad but the Volvo's we had would plow bad.
Once you're empty it can be a white knuckle ride depending on the conditions and the road you're running.

The terminals in Selma, NC are a breeze. Charlotte is a little confusing. Railroad tracks everywhere, having go across medians to get in the drive.

money is better. most turn in customer facility r very tight. You would scratch you head wonder if you would make that turn. Blindside back up with drum , holes and pallet around you while you back up. That why most tanker require 2 to 3 years driving experience. Driving and backing should not b an issue. The more common r the spill, loading wrong product, unload in the wrong tank.
