Stevens Transport Aviary . . cont'

Thanks to Stevens for giving us gift cards to Golden Corral (although half weren't activated) it's the thought that counts in my book. Now, back to the chocolate fountain!

 

That is one of those absolutely-100%-preventable events. Even if fuel gets stolen overnight (happened to me) you still include 'Check fuel level' on a PTI. Failing to do so is, well, it's 100% human error, even if the gauge isn't working properly. But it's also part of the it's-never-happened-to-me-before-so-it won't-ever-happen mindsets.

The only time that I have run out of fuel was when I was with Stevens. I was out of hours and had to park on the side street in Dinuba, CA (?)(They have a set of scales and there is a traffic circle just past the shipper). I had about 1/2 tank of fuel in reefer. Woke up about 5 hours later to the reefer not running. It was out of fuel.

I had to make the dreaded phone call and it was a horrible experience. Had one a-hole call me chewing my butt out for running out of fuel. Tried nicely explaining that someone had to have stolen fuel as I had sticked the tank and had plenty of fuel. This person treated me like I was a 2 year old. Finally hung up on them. They made me go to ThermoKing in Fresno to get everything checked out. I was there early in the morning and sat all day until late evening before I Stevens would pay the bill so could leave.

There's a guy in my class that keeps falling asleep. I think sergeant major is gonna have a coronary lol.

 

If it's Sgt Major's class on map reading (super trip), he's use to it. I swear 3/4 of people that go thru that class must fall asleep, considering all the places we end up routing them back out of!
Now if you want to see Carl really light up, ask him his opinion of which GPS is the best.

Someone just asked if they could drink DEF. To the fuel department lol.
