Some kind of deal with Prime, merger? Sold out? See JP tractors pulling Prime trailers all the time.

Update: Jim Palmer was purchased by Wil-Trans in Missouri and Wil-Trans contracts with Prime

My husband currently drives for Jim Palmer. Will Trans owns Jim Palmer & O&S and they are leased on with Prime. At the moment everything goes through Prime! If you join one of these companies you will have a log on through Prime, you will use the Prime App. It doesn't matter which one of these companies you drive for you can pretty much run all lower 48 states. Remember you are hauling Prime freight for the most part. There are a few companies in which Jim Palmer in which are now hauled by Prime and I am sure the same goes for Will Trans and O&S. Too many hands in the pot and not enough straight forward answers. Also know that you will be paid on your comdata card and have a few fees attached to so said card. Jim Palmer currently does NOT reimburse their company drivers for comdata/comcheck fees for lumpers which are currently $2.55. To transfer money to your bank it is $1.00. To use the app to check on your money is free. To call the number to check your balance will cost you money. Jim Palmer has a CDL program and do believe most of it is through Prime. Before going to Jim Palmer for training you will have to do training videos and stuff like that and it is through Prime. You will also need to sign a years contract with Jim Palmer. Husband left over the road trucking in 2005 in which he drove for Prime during that time. He drove for a company at one time which was leased on to Navajo but yet everything was taken care of through the company he drove for. With Jim Palmer it all goes through Prime. Through the rumor mill the owner of Will Trans and the Owner of Prime went to high school together! Allie Knight seems to have a big influence on referring people to Jim Palmer. People also should know she is an IT person and she is good at it she loves driving and loves Jim Palmer. Who knows if Jim Palmer will ever be its own company again only time will tell. If you don't mind being a company driver controlled by Prime then this may be the company for you! When my husband runs he runs a lot but he also does a lot of hurrying up and waiting also. IT also seems like Prime makes sure it takes care of its own before all the other companies that are leased on to Prime! I do think it would be nice if Jim Palmer would state on the website that it is leased on to Prime and owned by Will Trans and pretty much all of your training is Prime based along with your benefits and stuff. They allow pets and have a rider program at a whopping $21.00 a week! When you apply and they are looking to hire you on and if you happen to be married the recruiter is going to want to talk to the spouse also.
There are a lot of great trucking companies out there and if Jim Palmer wasn't so controlled by Prime it would be much better. This is the trucking industry it has a high turn over rate but with everything you are going to have to find the right one for you. We do hear that Wal-mart has one of the lowest turnover rates and they pay well. Though there will be downfalls of driving for certain companies like no pets and no riders! My advice get a notebook, get some driver books from the truck stops and start researching write the pros & con's down of each and then go over your options! For us Jim Palmer was a foot in the door for the hubby to pick up truck driving again. He has had and maintained his CDL since 1992. He was off the road from 2005 until 2016. He also had to do the full 40 thousand miles 30 thousand of it with a trainer then 10 thousand on his own and 60 days probation before the dogs or me can ride with him! This is from a husband(the driver) & wife's(financial advisor) perspective of the company!

    tscottme Thanks this.
