I came out of driving school in 97 & went directly into TMC's training program. When I was at their motel for orientation, there were many nights where a regular driver would come in off the road in the middle of the night and they'd assign him to my room, so much for getting sleep. I had an awesome 30 year vet for a trainer from St. Clairsville, Ohio, he was with TMC 10 years. That man taught me more than any driving school could hope to in double the time, but he was a slave to the fuel mileage bonus so we slept in a freezing cold truck every night. Things were progressing well with my training and my trainer told the bosses I was ready to get my own truck about two weeks earlier than the allotted training "schedule". Well, TMC tells my trainer to have me call them. I call and they proceed to tell me I have two choices. I can go with a Shamrock trainer, Shamrock was one of TMC's regional companies, and make $500 gross per week IF I got 5 loads done when I got my own truck or I could come back to Des Moines and throw tires in the yard for $8.00/hr. because they were waiting on more black trucks to come in, they told me they didn't know how long that would be, of course. I went with the Shamrock trainer for a week and decided the waiting time at shippers and receivers wasn't worth the money for running between Detroit and Chicago as many times a week as one had hours for. So I bailed and went somewhere else. They had tried to talk me into the Shamrock gig at orientation but I wanted to run the TMC system because of the better pay.
My trainer did tell me about guys getting fired for showing up in Des Moines with dirty trucks, inside or out, and getting the axe for loads not tarped or secured to their standards as well.

As for the rest of your post? Are you the marketing department that writes the ads for the back of trucking magazines? If so, that would make sense for your utter disrespect for the drivers who
actually do the work that pays your salary. I say at the very least post number 2 from you needs to begin with an apology.truckinmike1984 and Joetro Thank this. -
We allow drivers to speak their minds here, regardless of background, political stripe, or what-have-you. I strongly suggest you read the first post in the first "docked" thread on the subforum page you were on before you entered this thread, and consider yourself duly warned. -
This is quite possibly the most brown-nosing post I've ever read!
Congratulations!!

Does "Mr. Annette" get any work done with you under his desk all of the time?Last edited by a moderator: Jan 1, 2014

SlowPoke44magnum, great post. Man, that guy's training was priceless!
SlowPoke44magnum Thanks this. -
Hello djtrype,
Sorry to hear you had some bad buffet at the truck stop. Hope your stomach feels better.
I have had my ups and downs working tor TMC, but no lube is required when you can walk into the owners office and sit down for a talk when you have something to get straightened out. And I have done that more than once in my tenure at TMC. I do take offense when a person that never delivered a load in his own truck at TMC shares his years of experience and gossip without having any TMC experience.
TrueBlue may have many years behind the wheel, but NONE driving a flatbed for TMC. He never finished training and drove for us. I do take offense when he calls a man I know personally a thief, with nothing to support that allegation but rumor. -
Hello Maxgussam,
I really doubt Mr. Annett spends any time at all reading the posts on any site like this and my comments were not for his eyes. I take offense when someone that has no real experience with TMC dumps on my place of employment with a load of BS and rumors. -
Hello Mack E-6,
My goals?
I got an email from another driver about this post from TrueBlue so I came over to see what he had to say. I rarely visit this type of site because I don't really care what whiners have to say, but when I started reading all the BS that TrueBlue was shoveling about a company that he had almost zero experience with, I had to log on and respond.
I just hope your readers can see that his limited experience and comments are based on one man's view and rumors that he was told by other drivers and none of it is based on his own experience at TMC. By his own admission he was never issued a truck at TMC or delivered his first load as a TMC driver.
I wanted your readers to hear about TMC from a TMC driver, not a truck stop gossip.SheepDog Thanks this.
