As Emulsified pointed out in the other thread, it may be very likely they are bluffing and hoping you don't hire an attorney. The problem for them, since their scales are likely not calibrated properly, is that if you win your case then they will likely have a LOT of other cases thrown out as the lawyers start tracking down truckers that have paid fines.

as was mentioned. the guy went cross country. anything could have changed so cat MAY not help him out. but he apparently wasn't at a cat scale anyways.

where was this scale at? you got the citation?

i hauled a load of cars from albu. to colorado springs. albu scale had me close to gross. hit that first colorado scale and i was 1000 over gross. but at the exit for colorado springs. was a suprise inpsection. they scaled me ok. made the empty at the recycle yard and their weight as also just fine. 4 weighs on that 400 mile journey. but 1 was out of whack.

PSP is a report that was started during CSA 2010. It contains all of YOUR crash data, and Inspection data. Crash data will be on there for 5 years, and Inspection data will be on there for 3 years. Your scale ticket should not be, it is NOT part of CSA. You can get a copy of your PSP, and I recommend you do, for $10 Google "psp report". Get a copy of your DAC through Hireright for free. Get a copy of your MVR as well. Keep all this stuff in a file folder, all tickets, all reports, all and any information that pertains to your career. Not scale tickets, although I would hold onto them for a week or so. Just a yearly DAC, PSP and MVR report plus any citations you get, or police reports,,,oh and Dr. Reports for injuries during your trucking career.

axle DOES count on your csa. when you get inspected. i got a lvl 3 and a citation for being 1500 over on an end dump axle. hauling dirt from top of mountain to bottom where the dump sight was at. NO SCALES to be used.

i don't remember what the points were, though. it's long gone from my csa.

Better read the terms on your CAT scale ticket again. They only guarantee the GROSS weight, not the axle weights. He was over axle. Wouldn't be covered.
