I am another new guy who is trying to learn and absorb all this info. Thought if I joined a trucker group maybe I could gain some insight into the business I've become a part of. Been in all 47 states through every season so far. Just finishing my obligation with CRST in Feb and trying to get a handle on where to go to work after. I don't like the 28 to 30 days out. Would rather drive solo for about 10 to 12 days only. Also would like to stay out of the snow.

Put your location on your profile, city/state and you will get lots of good information on jobs.

My home is San Diego, Ca and I am driving to Riverside now so anywhere in that area is fine by me.

You're looking for something like a Southwest regional. It will be difficult to stay away from snow and make any money though. National Carriers has a West Coast regional.
Here's a few to check; you living in San Diego:
Andrus Transportation
Tesoro Companies Inc.
Centerline Transportation
Roehl Transport
System Transport
There are many others with Western or Southwestern; maybe some other drivers can post on these. -
Thomas and Sons run 7 western states. But you will still be in the snow at times.

Thanx Chinatown I'll start looking into these and see what comes up. dueysdream
